I think like some others have said, with tickets still available for the 16th show there, If they take the other west coast shows off now, maybe those tickets will sell. So, those of you close enough to get there on the 16th, do it!!! Help us geographically challenged parrottheads out!!
If you booked your room through the hotel, you should be able to cancel with no penalty (no matter where your reservation is). This is why no one should ever use travelocity, expedia, etc. to book rooms in Vegas. If you find a lower rate there than on the casinos own website, just call the hotel direct and ask them to match the price. They will all do this and it provides much more flexibility (not only can you cancel without penalty if you need to scrap the trip....but you can also cancel without penalty if a better deal is found elsewhere).

Hopefully, it doesn't matter as these dates will still happen.....but always use this approach when booking rooms in Vegas (and its worth a try in most other cities as well).

Well, the October dates wouldn't even be in the computer systems yet until an onsale date for tickets is determined. I'll be there this weekend, so I'll put out a little extra phin power for us all in October.

I think Dean's right on the money about them re-announcing the dates after the 16th Vegas show. Don't put them Permanent markers away just yet.

Before something "Official" is announced a couple of things to keep in mind.

1) Many of the better live gates are at MGM, Atlantic City, where he charges much higher ticket prices than the Great Woods and other outdoor venues and we all know with Jimmy money talks

2) The Dolphins do have a bye week October 18th.

3) Tickets were not selling for this weekends Vegas show.

My hope is the fall shows are sort of "re announced" at the and of this month or
early June. My personal opinion I will keep to myself until an offical announcement gets made.
However I will say dont expect 2 vegas shows in Oct. If one doesnt sell in May back to back in Oct wont either.

If I may ask, where's the information coming from that tickets for May 16th are not selling well?

I went out to Ticketmaster and the floor and lower bowl are sold out, as well as all the tickets under $200.

The only tickets I could get were some $200 tickets in the upper bowl behind the stage.

Something doesn't make sense. :o :o

Well, at least it is a bye week. Gives a little hope. Tix for Vegas are expensive, would be surprised to see that venue cancelled in lieu of Paris. Let's hope it's the right weekend if reannounced.

I made our reservations thru a travel agent. She then made them thru Southwest Airlines Vacations, which I could have done. Cancel, and lose deposits. I asked about changing dates, and was told that was the same as canceling. Lesson learned. With the internet, I don't need travel agents! Here's hoping that the dates for Oct. will return! :D :D :D

You will probably not have paid as much for your air tickets as we have coming from the UK. We can only hope that the dates for October will return. I am crossing my fingers and think that at least one date will reappear. Just think it was a ploy so he could sell all tickets for the MGM this Saturday. I clicked on Ticketmaster at the end of last week and could get tickets for this Saturday on Floor D. Just a pity we cannot get to Vegas this weekend.

That's actually not Southwest's policy. I'm in the same boat. They will credit you the $$ amount for another flight for up to 1 year after initial booking date. I know because I recently lost a $50 credit because I waited over a year. I had to cancel and re-book flights last year to LMS. I would call Southwest yourself if the TA info seems odd. If this caves, I think we will probably take a winter long weekend to New Orleans and use the ticket that way. Glad I booked my hotel directly, at least I can get that back.

I've actually been looking for tickets the past two weeks. Most times I've checked, I've found seats available in D,E,or F on the floor. Currently the best I pulled up was section 12 (which still isn't bad). In previous years, you could never pull tickets near this good close to the show (unless you happened to "catch it" when some extra tix were released)

To compound the problem even further, brokers are not selling any of their inventory. I know many people don't like this segment....but trust me, its vital to the concert business in Las Vegas. For the last month, stubhub has consistently had 3-500 listings of available tickets. Right now, it has 378 listings and they probably average 4 tickets each (some are for 1-2 tix...while others are for as many as 8). Thats nearly 2000 tickets (in a 14,000 seat venue) that brokers are desperate to sell (many priced below face value). In addition, there are other listings on ebay, craigslist, broker websites, etc.....that are not even included in this group.

Unless things change in the next few days, brokers will not even touch seats with the frequency they have in the past. Instead of purchasing 500+ tix to the show, most these offices will be very selective in what they buy and this will result in a sales decrease of 3-5000 tix.

I really don't believe that either of the October shows have been officially cancelled at this point....but I also believe that one (or both) could be scrapped if a lot of seats are empty this Saturday.

The MGM is having huge financial problems at this point as they struggle to complete the City Center project and anything which may be a financial hit to the company will definitely face heavy consideration of being eliminated.

I thought they filed bankrupcy (sp)....My thought when I heard that a few weeks ago, I thought - where is the next big location? Mandalay Bay? And are they booked for that weekend?

No Bankruptcy filing yet. I know it was announced that MGM received an additional loan to finish City Center. It has also been discussed that Steve Wynn may buy back the Bellagio. MGM is not the only property having problems. Harrah's is looking to sell properties to raise cash also.

Mandalay Bay is owned by MGM Mirage, Inc. so that shouldn't effect anything.

Even if there is a bankruptcy filing there will still be concerts at the MGM. They need to bring people out to Vegas and concerts are a great way of doing that. I'm sure there is going to be a Buffett concert this fall in Vegas.
