Technically, according to the letter of the law, Tom Daschle wasn't a lobbyist. But after he left the Senate he worked at a law firm, made over $1,000,000/year and he isn't a lawyer either so I wonder what he was doing for that money. If it looks like a duck ...

First I don't want to see Obama fail. I did not vote for him.
Interesting that the change Obama is giving is us ammounts to the Clinton era Round II. Take a look at his cabinet.
It appears that the only change we might be lucky to have is the change in our pockets (if that!) when he is done.
That and his so called stimulus package, is only stimulating what is potentially the largest debt America has ever faced. Gee what if they just gave all that money back to the taxpayer?
What is/was his proposal...close to $ 1,000,000,000,000 USD? Tell me that would not stimulate the economy, by putting the money into the hands of the people that spend and pay for it.
I don't see where commenting or critizing Obama failures to be a problem. He got himself into the situation with his own words.
Is there some sort of problem holding people accountable for their words or does that only apply to conservatives and any one else that is not a liberal or a democrat?
I do see the media is being it's usual self in the way they treat him and the way many of his supporters condemned President Bush want to ignore President Obama's screw ups. How many are they going to ignore? If this lack of a less than inspiring beginning, is of indication, there are going to be many, many more chances and opportunities to suffer over the next Four LONG years. I have heard President Obama's popularity polls are suppposedly already dropping.
Oh yeah, Tom Daschle's wife was most definitely a lobbyist. Tom can I do my taxes like you and the others and get a break? Maybe a nice refund to boot?

The stimulus package appears as if it will pass, with a little help from Arnold Spector and the two bimbos from Maine.

You just answered your own question.

So the man who never had any problem raising everyone else's taxes apparently feels the federal government has too much money?
Very intresting.

Well, if there is, somebody else will have to paint the picture.
WCVB wrote:Obama 'Hope' Artist Arrested In Boston
BOSTON -- The controversial street artist who gained fame with his red, white and blue posters of President Barack Obama was arrested in Boston Friday night, Boston police said.
Shepard Fairey, 38, was arrested on two outstanding warrants as he was about to enter an exhibition of his work at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Fairey was charged with damage to property for having painted two Boston area locations with graffiti, spokesman James Kenneally said.

Don't worry about it. Those who did will do just fine without you (and all the whining).
Last fall's elections clearly proved that this broken record I'm hearing here again
will be drowned out by the eventual progress and return of the U.S. middle class.

NBC reported last evening..another $20 would be coming out of my paycheck...
LB, you want to reimburse me for that $20? I'll send you my address in PM.
J/K (I think), although, I do find the unemployment rate and small business failures alarming.
I question saving the big banks and the big 3 auto makers. Enough is enough. The CEO's should not collect a salary for this year (2009) It's outright obscene how they live, and still expect taxpayers bail-out. Not to mention what politicans take home, including bennies, which is even more obscene.

I made a very direct and accurate comment: Obama said no lobbyists throughout the entire campaign he based around those words "I will not hire a lobbyist to work for me as President". He has since hired three: William Flynn III, Bill Corr, and Tom Daschle.
If I voted for him I would be very upset. The people who believed him have every right to be angry.

Anyone want to talk about the pork belly related expensives Senate Majority Leader Henry Reid has said he will do with the stimulus package for Nevada? I though Obama was "eliminating" those types of things along with "not hiring lobbyists" . . . atleast he isn't one of the many tax cheats . . .

But LIPH didn't lie about hiring Lobbyists. And LIPH hasn't "changed" in years. Sadly.

My question is did you sip or chug when you drank the kool aid? Just kidding
I believe the economy will turn and you will see a strenghtnening of the middle class as you mentioned. The difference is I believe this will happen despite the goverments intervention, not because of it. The best thing the government, Obama and his congressional buddies, can do is get out of the way and let the economy straighten itself out. Business drives the economy, it supports infrastructure, pays taxes, and provides jobs to people so they can pay their taxes and sink some of that money back into the economy by buying things. The government needs to stop looking at ways to spend the tax payers dollars and let people spend their hard earned money on items that are important to them therefore helping build the economy. Spending money on pork projects, many of which don't even appear to come into effect until late next year isnt going to help anything of anyone. I just don't understand how the Obama supporters don't see that nothing good is going to come from what they are trying to do. He lied to you, behind that big smile and very well prepared speeches. How long do you pretend thats not the case. This is not a pity party, that will happen when the US dollar isnt worth the paper its printed on and foreign countries that hold our credit decide its time to collect. Then we will have a national pity party.

Obama still supports this man? Voters still support this man and deny his hypocrisy?
So why isn't/wasn't he subject to the fullest extent and letters of the law? Does he believe he is above everyone else, because of his politics and is not subject to such as he clearly stated, and believes for everyone else to be subject to?
Where is the media on this?
Oh wait, he is a Liberal Democrat...
Clearly there is no denying his guilt and so called "mistake".
There is no mistaking how President Bush or any other Republican would be treated in such a situation.
“Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter. ” Sen. Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, May 7, 1998, p. S4507.
Obama broke his word to the people and his supporters. Most seem to overlook or ignore it.
Or else accuse those who, do acknowledge the blatant "mistakes" and lies, as some sort of failure, on our country by the various citizens that did not vote for Obama.

And on a side note, Obama sure does stutter alot when he gets asked non - pre - planned questions. He sounded like W. there for awhile last night. Did I just go there? Oh yeah - - - I did!

ISN'T HE"THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB" AND A PROFESSIONAL ON FINANCES....SHEESES. AND HOW LONG WILL THE MEDIA PUT UP WITH ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT TOPIC A AND GETTING AN ANSWER FOR TOPIC B

But President Bush was much more eloquent and photogenic.
I mean, at least people could photoshop President Bush into a chimpanzee and no one considered it to be racist. Unllike they did when such was done to Obama or his wife.
Nothing like hypocrisy and double standards are there? Just like catching Obama in his obvious lies...Obama really is not the Messiah.
