I'm still not saying it, that the Saints will go 16-0 and then 19-0. It would be a shame for the Saints to not win the Super Bowl next year after having such a great year this year. And for such a perennially bad team too. The Colts have already won a Super Bowl. The second best record ever is a tie, 18-1 between Chicago and New England. Chicago, of course, WON the Super Bowl.
Same with the San Francisco 49ers in (I think) 1983 or 1984.
Their only loss was to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they went on to win the Super Bowl.

You are, I'm sure, considering the 1972 Dolphins, with their perfect 17-0 season (14-0 in regular season, 3-0 in playoffs/Super Bowl), to be the best record.....based on overall winning percentage (1.000). The Bears and the Pats at 18-1 yields a percentage of 0.947. -"BB"-

I am watching the patriots - Fins game, beer in hand with my Landshark coozie wrapped around it. Seem appropriate, I can root for my team while supporting Buffett's brand
Miami is now at 3rd and 32 and got that way without any penalties, not sure if I have ever see a 3rd and that long without the aid of penalties.

I am sick to my stomach. Who Dat found a way to lose a game they had "in the bag"? Answer: The 'Skins, Dat Who. Damb ..... this team just continues to find innovative new ways to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory and rip my loyalty to shreds.

GOD DAMN F--KING KICKER!!!! Sorry Penny and other moderators, that is the cleanest I can keep of what I think of the kicker. That is the second game in 3 weeks he has cost us the game. If the ownership had any brains (and yes they do not) they will cut Suissan now.

However in 1972 there were only 14 regular season games as opposed to 16 now, and I'm wondering if there were any games in that season that were close enough to put their record in jeopardy (meaning I think they'd have been hard pressed to win 2 more regular season games)

What-ifs, perhapses, and maybes. Using that same logic, one could say that if the Bears (at 18-1) had played only 14 regular season games instead of 16 they might not have lost the one game they did. -"BB"-
