Because he's a cheater. He's a fraud. His MVP is tainted and someone who played the game "clean" was cheated out of a lifetime award because A-Roid lacks character.
I am more appalled and pi$$ed about the use of steroids in baseball and football than I am about the Michael Phelps bong issue. Yes kids to look up to all athletes but quite frankly I'd rather have my son idolize someone who took a toke off a bong vs a guy doing steroids. More boys are into baseball than swimming. The incidence of kids using steroids and dying because of it is more prevalent than kids dying of pot smoking. Not that I would want my son to do either but if I had to choose one over the other I'd take pot hands down.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Oh, I am not disagreeing that he is any of the above, I am just curious as to why now, 6 years later, it is being released as BIG news......

perhaps because he was held out to be the golden hope to get baseball out from under the cloud. this is one time it is nice that a little sunshine crept into a dark corner.

He's just the newest chapter of fraud, denile, cover up and cheating in MLB sponcered by the MLB Players Union.
From the story:
“You’ll have to talk to the union,” he said. (A-Roid)
Major League Baseball and the players’ union issued statements Saturday, refusing to confirm or deny the report, citing player confidentiality

exactly.
Don't hate the player. Hate the game (or in this case, the MLB player's union and the owners committee that just shrugged).
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!
These are A-Rod's statistics for 2003:
181 hits,
47 homers,
118 R.B.I.,
124 runs scored,
30 doubles,
17 stolen bases,
.298 B.A.
I'm sorry, I KNOW he's a pretty good player, but these days no matter WHO puts up numbers like that needs to be investigated for the use of ANYTHING illegal.
If he's found to be clean, the God bless him.
If he's found to be otherwise, KICK HIS FRIGGIN' A$$ OUT OF THE GAME!!!
Whether these baffoons know it or not, they ARE setting an example to young kids, and, no matter HOW many years ago this happened, it needs to be dealt with.
NOW.
One thing I thought of after reading the article on si.com, the information was supposed to be sealed by court order. Assuming that is the case and it is against the law to talk about it, if A-Rod said something (since he is part of the case), couldn't he have been thrown into jail for violating a court order?
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Think back to what the players union told the players to say about any testing, "NO COMMENT!" Hell, an entire book was written about Bonds from leaked information and no one got in trouble for that. Who's dirtier?
Every player who tested positive should have whatever record they obtained during that period should be removed from the record books.

The Union didn't stick the shot in his ass and force him to take it. The players Union did not force him to cheat on his wife. He's responsible for his actions. He lives in the same delusional world as Bonds and Clemens.
