Re: A-Rod reportedly tested positive for steroids
I would REALLY like to know what the difference is between...
Not only USING steroids, but LYING about it, then telling the truth... or smoking a little pot at a party?
Is A-fraud going to suffer the scrutiny that Michael Phelps did? Will he also feel it in the wallet?
I don't get how one is so different from the other?

I would hate to be under that kind of pressure at that age...I am sure he was under all kinds of pressure to perform...all those players are...the difference is, unfortunately, that he caved...SharkOnLand wrote:I was watching ESPN at lunch, he admitted it in an interview with Peter Gammons. liked the "it was stupid, it was stupid, it was stupid" defense. that, "it was only 3 years", and the "you always worry about getting caught, but I lied about it, repeatedly, and then the woman who reported it is psycho, and stalking me"

The difference is Rodriguez did it to get an unfair advantage against competitors who were playing by the rules. Phelps didn't.MDown wrote:I would REALLY like to know what the difference is between...

The article is supposed to be in Sports Illustrated, a national magazine. He's been all over the front page, and the back page, of every newspaper in the NYC area. I imagine it's not much different in other parts of the country. How much more scrutiny can he be under than he already is?MDown wrote:Is A-fraud going to suffer the scrutiny that Michael Phelps did? I don't know about feeling it in his wallet because he doesn't have a lot of endorsement deals compared to other big name athletes. About the only way it will hurt him financially is if there's a way for the Yankees to get out from under the contract. If there isn't, even if they decide to release him they still have to pay him.
They both did something illegal and they both got caught. They aren't different.MDown wrote:I don't get how one is so different from the other?

If its true that ONLY took the roids while he played in Texas, then it becomes a case study for how it affects a gifted player. Look at his stats in the Seattle era and the Yankees era and the Texas era and see the difference. At least its not going to tarnish his Championship seasons

The more players get caught and then suddenly admit to abuse, the more I admire Ken Caminiti. He admitted without being caught or a book deal or any personal gain. As the game begins to get cleared up....fans that support baseball pre steriods should thank Caminiti for being the first to say...There is a problem

Re: A-Rod reportedly tested positive for steroids
According to a report by Sports Illustrated, many sport players were caught by the heads because of positive steroid test results: http://bigpaperwriter.com/blog/essay-on ... n-steroids. On the other side, the list still remains to be short, and, fortunately, many of them never used drugs before!
