DESPERATION SAMBA WITH JAKE SHIMABUKURO

Post by PZANEM_PARROTHEAD »

HELLO ALL FELLOW PARROTHEADS. KINDA NEW AT THIS, BUT I AM LOOKING FOR A LIVE TRACK OF DESPERATION SAMBA WHERE ROBERT GREENIDGE STARTS A SOLO ON THE PANS AND THEM JIMMY ASKS JAKE SOMETHING LIKE "...DO YOU WANT SOME OF THAT?" I HEARD IT ON SIRIUS, BUT THERE WAS NO INFO AS TO WHEN OR WHERE IT TOOK PLACE. I HAVE LOOKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR THIS ONE TRACK AND CANNOT FIND IT. I THNINK THIS IS THE BEST VERSION EVER OF DS. THE BAND JUST SEEMS TO BE ON IT ALL THE WAY AROUND... LIKE THEY ARE ALL TRYING TO OUTDO THE OTHER AND ARE JUST ON FIRE! ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS!!!

That's from the Live in Anguilla CD. I'm sure it's available at iTunes or most retail outlets. ;)
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

And Jake puts a little Stairway to Heaven intro in there, right?

I know that Jake hit some of the Stairway intro at the Camden, NJ show that year as well - another fantastic DS rendition

Actually, it was part of the show in Irvine California on 4/20/2006. Jimmy says "Would you like to follow that?" indicating that is would be tough to follow up on a solo part that is so difficult.

PZANEM...PM me an email address and I will send that song to you.

I have a version of the song from the 2006 Philly (Camden) Show that has both Robert and Jake doing the intro. Jimmy refers to it as"Culture Meets Trashy Mexican Border Town" I have it on MP3 (and the rest of the concert) if you are still interested.
