Geed or shall I say "pirate40"..... great news, glad you will be joining our voyage of BN'ers to St Barts.

BTW, I saw a post on SBO and thought to myself, that must GEED!!!

Ron and Carol, I had some questions about SB and guess what...... now I can't remember!!!!

We are getting pretty excited for Nov. and meeting everyone. I am glad we will have a couple days to explore the island before the big weekend event. We are still contemplating the hike to Columbier beach. I feel it is something we should do and not miss the chance. One other thing that would be fun is to get out on that water and go to Columbier area or just sail around and see the island from the water. Snorkel etc.

Hi Summerlover.....yes that is Moi'....Columbier hike is a little easier since the put "steps" in, still a workout. There is a shorter lower route from Flamands beach if you don't want to risk a heart attack...Gustavia is going to be crazy..in low season there isn't any parking, so be prepared for a long hike from your car....Carol, we will both be there, I haven't told her yet..SURPRISE !! So far I am debating between LeSereno because of the Spa and Manapany for the same...At my age no more roughing it..for you young-uns....

you must make the trek to columbier. it's not hard if you take the correct path. the second year there we took the goat path which is much steeper and narrow. we met up with a man who fell and blew out his knee. he couldn't walk so 2 med techs were coming down the path with a stretcher!!! i had a hard time picturing how they were going to carry him out. each one of us had a hard time carrying just our beach stuff. by the time we got back up the hill we were so ready for a dip in the pool. we were drenched with sweat ( this was the end of may and very humid). when we found out about the easier path, we laughed and joked about how bad the other trek was.

i have always wanted to go around the island by boat. the first time (1990) we went to the island was by sailboat charter. we only went to the port and then columbier bay and stayed at anchor.

Good idea ladies but I wanted to wear a cute pr. of black heels with a long dress w/shorts underneath and a long black sweater. . The dress is a little heavy and I didn't want to spare the extra weight. . . My sandals are very light weight maybe I'll put them in my huge purse but sneakers with a dress :o LOL !!!!! Decisions .... Decisions . . . .

i would seriously reconsider the slightly heavy dress. you won't need it on the island. everyone dresses "light". you'll most likely be too hot with that one.

I will have to look into the shorter trek from Flamands beach to Columbier. Don't need to risk an injury before Sat. so we best get on the right path. Ryan are you out there.... we really need to Columbier!!
I am just going to wear my sneakers on the plane I guess. I thought about wearing old ones then just throwing them away once we got our Columbier adventure completed. Then again Autour might be another to wear them to.

Geed why do I have this feeling we have talked about women's attire with you on this forum. Braless, see-through etc.

..Can't help it...when I think of St. Barts it is "warm summer breezes, french wine and cheeses"....and "see through tops and braless".....in fact that may be consider "overdressed" in some areas......except maybe on the Colombier hike.

Since we are overnighting in San Juan (Delta went to sat. only to SXM) and staying at a Marriott with a casino, she will think I had a gambling urge.....The tradewind charter will be a surprise.....but I think she knows me well enough by now, with my history of spontaneous Buffett excursions....she won't be surprised......
