When I was there a little over a two weeks ago skeeters were about the worst I'd seen. As you said the island VERY lush and green. Our villa is up high with screens and typically a breeze but once I had 4 or so on me while I was working outside.
I used full bottle of the liquid OFF during the week...mainly with the day biters.
Oh no I always get bitten bad

my quart bag is full already ( stuffed really lol ) Steve is going to have to make some room in his

!! Just when I thought I remembered everything NOT !!!! For sure gonna have to pick up a razor since we are going carryon only !!
You are allowed safety razors now (cartridge types). From the TSA website: Prohibited: Razor-Type Blades - such as box cutters, utility knives,
razor blades not in a cartridge, but excluding safety razors.
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/ ... items.shtm
Recommend buying insect repellent at Match when you get there - you'll use a lot more than 2 ounces!

so far both flights in have changed ( Continental in Newark ) & WinAir we arrive 2 hrs. earlier YIPPEE but it has to be carryon to make the flights !!!
My Winair flight has changed once as well (earlier too) but since I'm coming in the day before it's OK.. However, I've been advised to call them a few days before to confirm everything.
When you are a few days out, call
every day for sure.
I remember the biggest fit I have ever seen someone throw was at SBH, they canceled the flights for the day, come back tomorrow, this guy went through the roof, he got escorted out, pretty crazy. It happens, get used to it.

Thanks for the reminder of what TSA allows in carryon. Princess Juliana, however, has its own set of rules. The security enforcers have confiscated round-tip short scissors from my carryon.

I almost bought the Repel Eucalyptus but did not. I would have had to order it online anyway. Just another item to add to my already overflowing 1 quart bag.
I guess we will take our chances walking to Columbier or when we are out and about. Skeeters like my feet, I don't know why and no, they do not smell. Maybe that's why??
I bought 2 bottles of it online and just picked up some Ben's wipes that contain DEET (though that's my last resort) The ones that bite in the early morning and at dusk can carry dengue fever so that's why I stocked up. Though Dave and Carol will tell you they've never had a problem. I have a friend who travels frequently to the Grenada area and he laughs when I tell him I'm concerned. I guess if you stay away from perfume and scented hair products etc it's not so bad
I never had much of problem compared to other places. Right at dusk can be bad for a little while, but hey that's most places down island. You are exactly right, leave your perfumes and smelly shampoos at home, it does make a difference.
Pretty funny, I hear your friend from Grenada, Bequia and St Vincent, which is not too far away, was the worse I've been, I swear the darn things even followed us out to the boat

we almost pulled anchor and moved out further, wicked skeeters in that area.

The Islands in the distance? I'll have to think about that. I guess I should have also added "while" since it sounds like the mosquitoes were drinking Ti Punch.

Chris is also the HAIRIEST person I've ever met so I'm thinking the mosquitos take one look at him and say "forget it, it's not worth the struggle!"
And DMJ that picture makes me SO ready to go!!!!

That makes sense, this is a picture just to the right. This must be Saba in the distance.

http://www.caribbeer.com Will this do for now since they don't sell Carib where we live?? Ha. Love their home page. And Pam is right, just down right mean.
I brought an empty bottle home from Coco Coconuts at St Armands Square to add to the tiki hut out back. Put some sand and seashells in it. Can' wait to have another.
We fly out of Miami to St. Martin next Tuesday!!!
