If you go to http://keysnews.com/ and mouse over the image of Buffett, it states he did a two and a half hour concert Thursday evening and played a new song titled "We've Got A Lot To Drink About".

We'll be at the Heron House from 4/11-4/15 and will be spending much quality time at the SWB! I think Fingers will be at Hogs Breath during that time--I think someone mentioned this on BN!

Lucky 200 attend Buffett performance
Singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett rolled out his musical road map of Key West and Stock Island
during an unpublicized concert at Margaritaville Thursday night.
Buffett, along with guitar player Mac McAnally, performed a special acoustic performance for
his employees, friends and fans.
Buffett focused on songs written in or about Key West and Stock Island, including "A Pirate
Looks at Forty," "Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season" and "Grapefruit Juicy Fruit," which
he called the "national anthem of Stock Island." Buffett also debuted a new song called
"We've Got a lot to Drink About."

Now that would be cool to have a recording of. Anyone have any idea if it was captured for rebroadcast in any form?Desdamona wrote:Buffett focused on songs written in or about Key West and Stock Island, including "A Pirate Looks at Forty," "Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season" and "Grapefruit Juicy Fruit," which he called the "national anthem of Stock Island." My daughter was upstairs there last night and was telling me about the new song. She liked it and said it was a great show.Kept saying it was awesome and glad she was there even though this morning came early for work.
We will be in KW April 6-8.Have a room for the 7&8 but looking for something on the 6th still.

Thanks for the link, tikitodd... and des!
Now there is also a blog about the show.
http://www.travelogged.com/travelogged/music/
Buffett played a new song — twice — called "We've Got a Lot to Drink About" that referenced madoff, subprime loans and Citigroup buying jets with bailout money. The refrain went: "Depression, recession, good God, CNN stop bumming me out." The lyrics to that song may sound like a downer, but a suprise night with Buffett — that was totally free, no less — was anything but.

Now if you go to http://www.keysnet.com/212/story/72229.html there is a short article and short video of Buffett's performance. The video shows short clips of about 4 or 5 songs he sang that night. Pretty cool. Not the new song though.conched wrote:Thanks for the link, tikitodd...

Love this line from that link:
"Up-and-coming country musician Mac McAnally played with Buffett, who usually appears with the Coral Reefer Band, in a rare acoustic set."
How long does it take to become "Up-and-coming"??

Well, let's see.... Mac says he started playing in the line clubs in Tennessee when he was about 13... that'd make him up and coming for almost 40 years....RinglingRingling wrote:20 years?Conolulu wrote:Love this line from that link:tikitodd wrote:Now if you go to http://www.keysnet.com/212/story/72229.html there is a short article and short video of Buffett's performance.
