If you go to http://keysnews.com/ and mouse over the image of Buffett, it states he did a two and a half hour concert Thursday evening and played a new song titled "We've Got A Lot To Drink About".

We'll be at the Heron House from 4/11-4/15 and will be spending much quality time at the SWB! I think Fingers will be at Hogs Breath during that time--I think someone mentioned this on BN! :D

Now that would be cool to have a recording of. Anyone have any idea if it was captured for rebroadcast in any form?

Thanks for the link, tikitodd... and des!

Now there is also a blog about the show.

http://www.travelogged.com/travelogged/music/

Buffett played a new song — twice — called "We've Got a Lot to Drink About" that referenced madoff, subprime loans and Citigroup buying jets with bailout money. The refrain went: "Depression, recession, good God, CNN stop bumming me out." The lyrics to that song may sound like a downer, but a suprise night with Buffett — that was totally free, no less — was anything but.

Now if you go to http://www.keysnet.com/212/story/72229.html there is a short article and short video of Buffett's performance. The video shows short clips of about 4 or 5 songs he sang that night. Pretty cool. Not the new song though.

Love this line from that link:

"Up-and-coming country musician Mac McAnally played with Buffett, who usually appears with the Coral Reefer Band, in a rare acoustic set."

How long does it take to become "Up-and-coming"??

Well, let's see.... Mac says he started playing in the line clubs in Tennessee when he was about 13... that'd make him up and coming for almost 40 years....

Ten albums.... A couple of songs on the charts early on.... Wrote a BUNCH of hit songs recorded by other artists.... Sheesh, reporters really oughtta google just a little before they write this stuff....
