Who's that red headed guy playing with Jimmy? It can't be Mac, he has a short sleeved shirt on. I don't think I've ever seen him without long sleeves.looking4OPH wrote:There is a link below the video window leading to a photo gallery of the event as well.tikitodd wrote:Now if you go to http://www.keysnet.com/212/story/72229.html there is a short article and short video of Buffett's performance. That looked kind of boring and not fun at all. The people in the crowd look miserable. I am glad I wasn’t there.

I loved that clip of "I Heard I Was In Town." Not sure I've ever heard that one live.

Here's an email I received from Chris
I just read on buffettnews.com that you were looking for additional information on the suprise Buffett show last night in Key West....I was not there (unfortunatley I am stuck in Cincinnati) but my parents were! I am stuck cat-house sitting every February as my mom and dad make their yearly voyage to Key West. Now I am sure you have people email you all the time claiming themselves to be true Parrotheads, and "die hard" Buffett phans. My parents take it to another level - in fact- my mom's liscense plate reads "J BUFIT" ! They have been across the country seeing JB perform, and have been to atleast 50 shows (that I know of). Just some background info before I give you what deatils my mom explained to me over the phone this morning...
Anyhow, as it turns out - they got into Key West around 6 pm and decided to go for a stroll, and check out all the happenings on Duval St. Out side of Margaritaville there appeared to be some excitement, and a crowd forming so they went over to check out what was going on. Come to find out that on the bulletin board/windows there was a note reading : Closed from 5 pm - 9 pm. Immediatley my mom had a hunch that it may due to a suprise appearence by the man himself, as he has been known to do these types of things! They ended up waiting in line for several hours with hopes that the rumor was true- and eventually the doors opened and secrity began letting people in. My parents were one of the last ones to make it into the Margaritaville Cafe... Shortly after Mr. Buffett took the stage along with his right hand man, Mac. My mom described the scene as electric, and very once in a life time. Buffett played for 2 hours or so non stop- and she told me that he would go into detail before singing each song to describe for the crowd how that particular song came about.. very cool! She also said that it was acoustic only, and that the whole reason for the concert - as J.B. put it - was for the wonderful staff at the Margaritaville Cafe. My mom even said that at one point, Buffett brought up a few cooks on stage and thanked them. Obviously, JB is am an who appreciates his employees! She has the pictures to prove it (as I think Jimmy once said..) !
Needless to say, it was a matter of being in the right place - at the right time. My parents truly are the biggest parrotheads in all the world in what could be the considered the city that started it all - Cincinnati! Jimmy Buffett made my parents really happy last night, and although I am stuck back in Cincinnati "cat sitting" ( think more along the lines of those Gypsies in this palace!) - it could not have happened to a better couple that them.
Finz up!
I'll see you in the tailgating lot at Riverbend in Cincinnati on August 6th ! I'll be the one w/ an OHIO liscense plate that reads J BUFIT!

Thank you Chris!! (and thanks for sharing, Jim!) Reading that just totally gave me goosebumps! Not just the Jimmy part, but also the parental unit admiration and appreciation part! Super cool!phjim wrote:Here's an email I received from Chris
