TOUR OF CALIFORNIA

Post by Tequila Revenge »

http://www.amgentourofcalifornia.com/Route/stages.html

There's nothing like bicycle racing. Yesterday the riders raced over 100 miles through mountains and wine country in temps below 50F in the rain at speeds around 45 MPH. Someone forget to tell Lance Armstrong he's 37 and just came out of retirement.

Today's stage bring the riders ofer the Golden Gate Bridge and through San Francisco to Santa Cruz. Pour yourself a glass of fine California wine, tune the TV to Vs. channel and enjoy some great scenery. Hope you get hooked!

Hey, TR. Missed this thread earlier.

You know I'm watching. Missed the live race yesterday, but caught it late last night. What miserable conditions, but I thought the Astana boys looked good. Am still trying to adjust to Lance and Levi being on the same team.

Loved seeing Tyler back ... am ambivalent about Floyd, but I love Tyler ...

Cancellara gave everyone a spanking on the time trial, huh?

Sure wish I was out on the West Coast to see a stage or three.

You DO NOT want to miss the replay of the race tonight

Floyd's been pretty humble. Lance told the media that he's role is the be the, "Domestique Extrodinaire," for Levi.

I'm watching right now. Levi just broke away ... trying to catch Mancebo.

Lance looks lean ... those chisled cheekbones and sunk in eyes worry me a bit, though. :-?

Heard Tyler had mechanical problems yesterday.

Miserable weather again today.

The local paper quoted Lance that there's only one bike like that in the entire world. What do they think they are going to do with it?

What do you think about Lance's condition? He looks pretty lean to me ... the face is really chiseled, like at the end of the TdF ... Hate to see him looking so thin so early in the season. :-?

I have to defer to you on that. Lance could be a tight end based on his size and athletic ability. Remember, he's 37 and that could just be what he's going to look like....It's the Euros that are the skinny riders :D

He's not Chicken skinny, but his face really looks like it does at the end of the TdF. Can you believe he's riding like this at 37?

Am not staying up for the entire replay tonight, but have been watching Lance ... he doesn't look so solid ... a little wobbly ... strong, though ... when he's climbing is when he looks the best ... got the TT bike back Thursday ... did you hear that TREK techinicians had built a new bike for him in TWO days ... but, he rode the one that was stolen on Sunday and then returned on Thursday ... Mick Rogers was looking good ...

Sure wish I was out there. Weather looked nice today.

Sunday's final stage includes a pretty good climb up Palomar Mountain in San Diego's North County.
If Lance is saving his energy for one last push, that'll be the time to move 8)

Looking forward to it! Lance wants Levi to win this event. The race on Thursday, Madera to Clovis, was AWESOME. California's beautiful foothills up into the Sierra's complete with snow and back down through the foothills. Somtimes I forget just how beautiful and diverse this state is. If they did the race in March, all those fruit trees would be in bloom. :D

I really believe Lance is riding for Levi this time ... probably in exchange for July.

Levi was smoking on the TT yesterday ... watching the rerun last night, he was just flying ...

Poor Tyler Hamilton just can't catch a break in a race ... I don't know if he's cursed or careless. ITT bike had issues yesterday. I like the guy, but he's not lucky.

That finish yesterday was amazing. A-m-a-z-i-n-g.

It takes nerves of steel to be a sprinter ... loved watching the breakway on the circuits through the city streets. That's what racing is all about.

Wish I was one of the millions along the road.

Didya see Lance toss his water bottle out? Wonder how many hands were reaching for it. :D
