I'll take hawaii or the USVI's or Destin way before stepping foot back in Mexico...And I have been there 5 times...but probably never again!! I think things have changed for the worse in that area! Sad.

Hola!

After living in Hawaii for 5 years when I was younger AND having been to the Caribbean Islands before, Mexico hasn't ever really been on my radar of places that I've wanted to visit.

Well, that all changed when my wife's boss paid for us to go to SECRETS SILVER SANDS for 5 days in Cancun, Mexico.

Having never been to an all-inclusive before, I have to say, we had a BLAST!!!!!!

Amazing drink and food service on the beach for 5 days, a beautifully landscaped property with green grass, swaying palm trees and clean pools, SILVER SANDS pleasantly shocked us by looking even more beautiful in person.

Had JB on the Ipod Speakers on our patio with a partial ocean view. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Living up at 10,500 feet, we immediately enjoyed the 180 shift in temperature from mountains to beach (from 7 degrees to 81 degrees!).

As we exited the Cancun airport to find the chartered shuttle, a small Margaritaville greeted us as we exited. I wanted to stop but we were being moved like cattle to get onto the bus.
Same thing happened when we were late to the airport when leaving (thanks Apple Vacations!) and once again had to scurry past Air Margaritaville in the terminal.

Went Feb. 9th through Feb. 13th, 2012.
Could have used another 2-5 days there, but am not complaining due to the FREE trip that we just enjoyed!

Kauai is my dream trip, so not sure if I'll be returning to Mexico anytime soon. Still, a great time had by all! [smilie=superkewl.gif]

We are glad you and Kathy had a relaxing vacation. We were waving at you from Cozumel.

Wayne, you made it to Cozumel? It has been many years since I've been there but I remember it as a fun place. I sailed in from the Caymans, dove on Palancar reef, very clear water.

anybody been to this one? any reports?
Haven't been to the Margaritaville, but if you want great strong margaritas Casa Denis has a great margarita on the rocks. Also Wet Wendy's is well known for there margaritas, and has created some unique ones such as their jalapeno flavored margarita. Many people rave about that one. I tried a sample one but it wasn't my cup of tea so to speak. Here is a link to Wet Wendy's
