Yep! And, I keep reminding our students that about 10% of colleges are now looking at Facebook and Myspace in considering college admission applications.Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Bottom line...everything you post on the internet is there forever...be it BN, Myspace or Facebook or whateverelseyoumaybeinto. We already know employers look at these sites when considering folks for employment, so I try to only post pretty benign stuff. I can't control what other people post, but I would hope folks would think before posting and tagging unflattering pics or stories. And I limit my stuff to "only friends". I hadn't joined any of these sites until recently, but had gotten a lot of FB invites. Feedback from all of them was that FB was a vast improvement over Myspace. Whether or not that is true is up to the individual, but I've not had any issues as of yet. My only problem is trying to put real names with BN names. Come on folks...post your screennames!![]()

That sucks that you have those ........Barefoot Gypsy wrote:Took the jump and joined you on FB. Didn't put my screen name there becuz....I have a set of "creepers" aka stalkers. BN is one of the only places I can go and just be me with no care. I can come here and stand "naked" in front of you (figurativley of course) and you accept me as I am.....not so for every where else. Anyway...at the moment I am the one wearing my good catholic school girl clothes. Uh...yeah...that didn't stick too well..
I discovered a disturbing hiccup in this method.....Brown Eyed Girl wrote: And I limit my stuff to "only friends".
Seas, I know you're kidding, but to be serious for a minute, please be careful out there, everyone. A woman I knew online was probably killed by an online stalker. The murder has never been solved as far as I know. About 8 years ago I was part of an online yahoo fan group. We didn't know each other nearly as well as some of us do here on BN. Most of us had never met in person. People came and went, as they do, and when she stopped posting no one thought too much of it. A few months later someone decided to try to get in touch with her and googled her name. A couple of days after her last post her body had been found out on a hiking trail. After searching her computer the police said it looked like she was dealing with an online stalker but they were never able to make an arrest. Very, very scary......Seas in my veins wrote:I want a stalker
