so, i am waaay over due to clean the mini blinds in our small master bath. after i get the loose dust off, what is the best way to get the grime off? vinegar & water??? i want to get the build up off without taking a year & a day..

buy new ones......

I used to take them outside, spray them with 409, let them sit a few minutes, then hose them off. But it's a little chilly for that today...

yep, me too.... but I soak them in the tub.......

or if I'm lazy.... buy new

You can't be jettin' off to St. Bart's and Anguilla if you're buying new mini blinds every time they get dirty! (Thanks again for that beer at Gwen's.)

I usually take mine outside and blast them with the pressure washer, but, as SGH said, it's a little cold for that.

My Mom has always soaked them in the tub with Dawn dish detergent (it gets the grease off!) for as long as I can remember. Besides from the bitching from Dad, who has to take them down and hang them back up, it seems to work pretty well for her.

I have a cat who ruins mini blinds. He bites them and bends the ones where he peeks his head out. So I now subscribe to the school of buy cheap ones and replace them periodically. They don't look quite as nice as the good ones but they work and I don't get upset at the cat as much.

We hose them outside...becare with any cleaners...some of them take the paint off! If they are plastic you will have no worries....tub soaking is good too! Hate to say it, sometimes just hand wiping is the best

I'll have to check on ours....I'll do that right after I find the ironing board...

I just run a duster over them and call it good.

that's what i do also...when i have bothered!! however, the ones in our bathroom aren't too great so i figured they needed it.
a.) i trying to save all my pennies with
1.) ph convention in march 2.) tampa concert in april 3.) trip to florida in may 4.) two buffett concerts in june. 5.)summer rental for 2 weeks 6.) trip to st. barth's for 2 weeks in november. oh, and did i mention the new clutch for my car in dec. along with the $$$$ we spent on new media equipment?
looking at all of this, i think we're doing our part to help the economy. we'll be eating mac & cheese for the rest of the year!
