If you knew you were gonna be stranded...

Post by bestseller92 »

...on a deserted island for six months, what three Jimmy Buffett CDs would you take along? (And yes, I know that if you KNEW you were gonna be stranded you probably wouldn't go in the first place, but play along, K? And yes, you will have batteries for your CD player.)

The CDs must be original factory albums (no compilations, live sets or self-made mix CDs).

I think I'd have to go with "Fruitcakes", "A1A" and "Changes in Latitude".

If I amended my own scenario to allow live albums I'd throw in the Anguila set.

Anyone else wanna Pick Three?

If you knew you were going to be stranded, why not take them all?

1994-1996 was a great time to be a Parrothead!!

in my opinion (humble as it is) I believe these three albums are one of the best 3-consecutive releases of ANY artist.

this is a funny question. To me, far and away, no second thought involved is CINLCIA. That to me is the Jimmy buffett album, which just goes to show how subjective this question is. Going just studio albums, I'd have to go CILCIA, Banana Wind, and White SportCoat.

ask me in 5 minutes, though, and I'd probably change 2 of those 3.

I've always said that U2 are usually ahead of their time with their music. The music/songs on Achtung Baby!, in my opinion, would be more popular today than they actually were when it was released. It is definitely an album I can listen to every song, every time, no skipping to one I like better...all of them kick ass. (okay...so I may be just a bit biased here   )

And regarding the posted question, for me:

They're damn good, but Elvis' "From Vegas to Memphis" (1968), "From Elvis in Memphis"(1969) and "That's the Way it Is" (1970), John Denver's "Farewell Andromeda" (1973), "Back Home Again" (1974) and "Windsong" (1975) and Waylon's "Ol' Waylon" (1977), "I've Always Been Crazy" (1978) and "What Goes Around Comes Around" (1979) are MIGHTY tough competition.
