according to my fiancee who is home in Key West this week. She said it is big. Hope it was being blown out of proportion.

Now she is getting conflicting information, but was told it was the store next door and that it is almost out. If I hear anything else I will let you know.

Anybody know if any of the various Key West cams have a view towards Margaritaville to see if there is fire department activity? None of these appear to.

Just heard from a source there that the fire started in an art gallery which is behind Margaritaville. All buildings in the surrounding area were evacuated. They were not sure if it had spread to Margaritaville. At this time they had not heard of any injuries.

If I hear anything else, I'll post it.

Thoughts and prayers to all the fire fighters and people involved.

This news report states that no damage came to nearby buildings.....thank God.

Hope all parties are safe........

Just another reminder of how vulnerable most downtowns are to fire. Kudos to the emergency personnel that apparently contained this blaze.....

That sign shop was one of my favorite browsing places on Duval. There and the art co-op. Glad no one was injured.
