This is the best time of year!!!
so far my bracket is looking pretty good. What big upsets have you guys predicted?

Wishing good luck to my Mountaineers today!!

Re: March Madness 2009
The only upset I picked yesterday was WKU. Even though MD was a 10 seed, I don't consider that a true upset. And any 9 seed beating an 8th seed is not an upset either.
Today I am going out on a limb and picking Portland St to beat Xavier. Arizona is a 12 seed that I am picking but they are only a 1pt underdog so not a big upset. USC as a 10 seed is actually favored so not sure if this qualifies as an upset either.

Re: March Madness 2009
I am in a pay per bracket pool (along with TommyBahama) and after 24 games I am 22-2
I was very surprised that so many people in my pool had West Virginia going far. I had them winning one game (which was one of my losses) but several others had them going to the elite 8 and a few in the final 4.
Really? Bob a Huggins team going that far? I couldn't belive it.
My other loss was Mississippi State.
I also has WKU in the upset over Illinois.

4 losses.....Butler...Clemson.....Utah St at the Buzzer.....and I think West Virginia!!!...but i didn't have them going much farther......no major upsets, had Western Kentucky!!!BottleofRum wrote:I am in a pay per bracket pool (along with TommyBahama) and after 24 games I am 22-2I was very surprised that so many people in my pool had West Virginia going far. So frustrating
I'm 25-3 right now with 4 games left in Round 1.

Re: March Madness 2009
Finished round 1 going 27-5. Went 16-0 on one side of the bracket. I am in a pool with 41 entries, I played two brackets and I currently am in first place with one of the my brackets and dead last in the other
I still have 15 of my sweet 16 teams alive in my 1st place bracket so that is good, only causality was Wake Forrest.

Re: March Madness 2009
Well a pretty good start for my bracket. Portland St let me down, but WVU really put the screws to me. I have them winning 2 more times. Siena had a nice come from behind double overtime win. And now we get ready for yet another day of games. I do love this time of year.

It seems like WVU and Wake Forrest really screw a lot of people. I know many who had both going far.MrBill64 wrote:Well a pretty good start for my bracket. Going forward this weekend I have very few upset picks so if the teams that should in do win I will be OK going into next weekend. The only two "upsets" I have in the 2nd round are #5 Purdue over #4Washington and #6 Ariz. St over #3 Syracuse - I figured Syracuse has played a lot of basketball the last week, they were bound to hit a wall. Right

Re: March Madness 2009
If my Syracuse continue to play as bad as they did yesterday, we will be out of this quickly. Apparently several members of the team have the flu. Great
I was at the game in Miami and even though we won, we played horrible.

Re: March Madness 2009
I'm off to a good start in all my money brackets...first or second place.
Bad news, though...I had Wake Forest sneaking through to the Final Four.
So...my chances of winning? THIN!

My possible points are second from the bottom at the moment... but I'm currently sharing 3rd with other pholks.
I'll have to admit, watching us shuffle as games finish is quite entertaining. Who'll be chairless when the music stops?

Re: March Madness 2009
I don't have any pools I am in but...
I met the Arizona team (and coach) a few weeks back on a
plane ride.. they are nice kids..
I know they will not make the elite eight but I am glad they did get past the first round..

Re: March Madness 2009
I hope it lasts, I am on a nice run, 35-5 through Saturday's games in 1st place in a 41 player pool. I am a perfect 21-0 on the right side of the bracket (South/East regional) and 15 of my sweet 16 teams are still in play.
