Bonita Springs Fla

Post by TSU86 »

Friends of our have a house there, and have offered it to us for a summer vacation.

Seems pretty central to Ft Meyers, Naples, Sanibel/Captiva.

Does anyone have any experience with Bonita Springs?

I lived on Ft Myers Beach for a few years, Bonita Springs would be a good place to visit, not far from Ft Myers or Naples. Maybe 5-6 hours from KW.

Bonita Springs is a nice spot in the middle of lots of stuff. Depending on what you like I am very familiar with the area. Here is a little run down.

Bonita: Grey hound track if you want to bet on the dogs. Golf courses, you are near Lovers Key State park a must
Ft Myers Beach: (20 min) Not the nicest beaches. Your typical beach front tourist trap, but neat places to eat and lots of fun. Take the Key West ferry out of Salty Sams marina great 3 hr ride to Key West
Estero (20 min) Plenty of shopping for the Mrs..If you have kids Ice Skating at Germain Arena
Sanibel/Captiva (1 hr) Beautiful island, great beaches and world renowned shelling. Sanibel light house, J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Bubble room on Captiva a must.
Naples (20 min) Upscale 5th ave if you want the Rodeo Drive feel, fancy restaurants. Great Beaches, check out Wiggins State Park. Plenty of golf
Immokallee: (40 min) Seminole Casino if you want to play the slots.

If you want you can head to the Everglades (1 hr) for air boat tours as well.
You can always drive to Southbeach in Miami 2 1/2 hrs is always fun...

Let me know if you have any specific questions.. ENJOY !!! Summer is much more quite here than during season
