I'll play!
I really haven't decided yet whether to include a double elimination. This is just kind of an extra round after ten "official" feuds. People that are eliminated won't be de-feuded, they just cant win. The past has shown me that most people will still submit answers as long as they can see how they compared to other BNers. Even non-players were always welcomed to send in answers, because that is where our results come from. And I'll need them to participate, so I'll just ask.Tarheel Tail-Gator wrote:IN
As far as keeping the losers playing, might I suggest either a double elimination tournament, or dropping the losers into a losers bracket or a losers/losers bracketI'd be glad to help with that.
The other suggestion would be to have a quick regular season (have one BNer take on a different BNer each round), then advance the conference winners to a single elimination playoff.
8 groups of 6 BNers
Five Round Regular Season (You could pre-set the schedule and the dates that answers were due)
Four Round Championship Playoff (single elimination)
(Again, I'd be glad to keep that standings)
I know that I'm complicating a simple effort, but I shudder to think that half the feuders will be de-feuded in the first round otherwise and 3/4 would be done be round 2.
Welcome! And don't be sceered. Its very simple to play and there are never wrong answers!Barefoot Gypsy wrote:I'm up for it.....as clueless as I am.
Sorry, I just had these visions in my head of some of the trash talking that BNers could offer. PM me with what you'd like displayed and I'll play with it (or maybe the e-mail function could be used to send results?)R. Jimmy got a blimp over Wrigley by just asking.
The idea of this is to be just a quick game with a different format, with only one winner; no second place or top ten will be awarded. So double elimination may just slow it down. If this goes quickly and smoothly enough, we can keep doing more of the same all summer. Just wanting to try something a bit different.
But, I do love your descriptions of conferencing and all that. Maybe after a few bracket style games have been completed, we can get into that, and talk more about it. I think you most certainly know a little bit more about it than I do.
What I do need the help with so far is "displaying" the results in a post so that everyone understands them.
