East Coast: Did you hear a rumble last night?
Strange sounds in the skies over the east coast. Not thunder.
Anybody else hear it?

Re: East Coast: Did you hear a rumble last night?
We had a thunderstorm here last night (Hartford, CT) and just after it was over, I heard a long rumbling noise that sounded like thunder but went on for waaaaaaaaaaay too long, long enough for me to think "I don't think that's just thunder."
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.

Re: East Coast: Did you hear a rumble last night?
People apparently saw some really bright lights in the sky as well as hearing the boom. A local radio station (wtop) has calls out to the FAA and a whole bunch of other agencies to find out what it was. Maybe it was the sound of the Louisville or Pitt basketball team imploding.
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on...

I heard a loud rolling rumble last night around 9:30 ish. I just attributed it to thunder even though when I took a look outside there wasnt any lightening or anything. A few minutes later though it started to hale and we were under a severe thunderstorm warning although I never heard any other thunder.

Now that I think about it, I did hear something... but since I live in an urban area I chalked it up to a jet or train.

When i was watching Tiger play last night he stoped in the middle of his backswing for a loud thunder like noise, about 7:30. Johnny Miller said it was the space shuttle entering back to earth's atmosphere.
I know I dont get there often enough but god knows I surely try

I'm sure it was Tom.

Re: East Coast: Did you hear a rumble last night?
I've heard the space shuttle many times as it usually flies over SE LA. Although more of a boom than a rumble.

I live a mile or so from Bay Hill, where Tiger was playing.Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Johnny Miller best get a clue, the shuttle landed SATURDAY at 3:13pm.miphinz wrote:When i was watching Tiger play last night he stoped in the middle of his backswing for a loud thunder like noise, about 7:30. The (double) sonic boom as the shuttle came in on Saturday afternoon was LOUD

No doubt, but tough for Tiger to hear it at 7:30 on Sunday.z-man wrote:I live a mile or so from Bay Hill, where Tiger was playing.Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Johnny Miller best get a clue, the shuttle landed SATURDAY at 3:13pm.miphinz wrote:When i was watching Tiger play last night he stoped in the middle of his backswing for a loud thunder like noise, about 7:30.
