and yet if I make a quick search I can find any number of disparaging remarks about women's weight/looks, even here on BN....

A woman at the gym was advising her friend to weigh herself before aerobics class, because afterward her blood pressure would be higher and that would affect her weight on the scale.

Huh??!??? Must be some aspect of physics that I don't understand.
