Susan Boyle - what everyone's talking about

Post by carolinagirl »

If you haven't seen her video yet, it's worth watching:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

I love Simon Cowell's reaction.

This version of the video has the lyrics to the right.

Ed started a similar thread this morning......

She brought me to tears....and I loved what the judges had to say to her. I'd watch AI if it was more like that show.

Sorry! I did a search for Susan Boyle before I posted it. I found a post in a different Spider Johnson thread but no thread of its own.

No worries....and I doubt Ed would care either, I'm betting his only agenda was to make sure the rest of us got to hear her.
What a wonderful gift the woman has that has finally been opened to the world. I'm not a big Simon Cowell fan, but he'll gain major points with me if he helps make Susan's dream come true. She's far too talented to not share that gift.

Lesson on not judging a book by it's cover huh?

I saw this on the Morning News this morning, was a blubbering idiot on my way to work.

I'm so happy for her. And that is such a beautiful song..

Saw this earlier today ... that is such a hard song to sing .... she does an amazing job.

Good luck to her.

With all the bad news and injustices we hear about each day, we need more stories like Susan Boyle.....

She makes us remember that despite all that is so terribly wrong in this world, God-given talent brings so much joy when shared with others.

I can't stop watching that video!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy to see everyone else crying. My hubby didn't know WHAT was wrong with me when ABC News just promo'd it coming up last night and I started crying because I'd seen it on YouTube earlier.

Just the raw expressions of surprise on the judges and the audience makes it so much more effective. They were so sure they were going to see someone make a fool of herself. And the content of the lyrics.... That's what got me too!

Just a tiny clip on NBC News tonight. They missed the boat last night, by just referring to it and suggesting people visit their website to watch it. ABC News showed the highlights of the whole video last night.

Here's a link to her interview this morning on CBS Early Show: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/04/ ... 9521.shtml

Even Patti La Pone gave her kudos on singing such a difficult song!

I hope that girl in the audience that rolled her eyes before she ever got the chance to sing learned a little something that night.
Bless her heart.

She is everything some posters on here denigrate -- older, authentic, brilliantly talented, humble and gracious. Thanks to Ed and whomever else who sees this and shares it.

I can't be the only one who didn't like her. I thought she was shrill.
I don't get it. :pirate:
