From a dear Southern lady, and friend of the family. Easy, tasty, and good for pot lucks and family gatherings.


2- 20 oz cans crushed pineapple, drained well
1 8 oz. (2 cups) grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup sugar
6 Tablespoons flour
1 stick butter, melted
1 "tube" Ritz crackers, crushed

Drain pineapple well. Grate cheese & mix w/ pineapple.
Mix flour and sugar, and add to pineapple and cheese.
Pour into greased square baking dish.
Sprinkle crackers on top, then drizzle melted butter over.
Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, till crackers start to turn golden.

I'm sure it is wonderful, but I can't even imagine.....

I couldn't either, Molly. You know me with fruits and salty things. But it really is good.

That is definitely a southern dish.....

My family loves this dish!

I'm sure that will be good! I make pinapple cheese bread sometimes, and when I tell people what it is, they give me the "what are TALKING about" look Then they have some, and they really like it!

Ok I like the sounds of this.............I know you eat it but how........is it a dip thing, the crackers are already there Is it a sidedish that you would use w/meat instead of potatoes or rice?

MoPen? It's just a side dish, but not a replacement of rice or potatoes. You just serve it on the plate instead of something fruity, or light you might have with dinner.

Alrighty then..................I'm gonna give it a try this summer!

No. "Someone" can not stand baked pineapple on pizza with meat and tomato sauce. It's not the cheese.

My Dad use to make peanut butter, mayonnaise, banana and potato chip sandwiches, and wash it down with buttermilk (shudder).
