HA HA! While it may not be breaking news, per say, it's actually fairly significant news as far as Jimmy Buffett and Key West goes.

The parabolic thing about it is, is that the news that Jimmy Buffett was in Key West, is exactly that. The key word is "was".

You usely hear about Jimmy visiting Key West the day after he left. This may happen between three or four times a year. The fact was, this time people knew about it in advance. Thats unusual.

As an example, when he showed up at Margaritaville a couple of months back and debud "We've Got A Lot To Drink About", did anyone know about it before hand? No.

That's what made this trip different.


Jimmt Buffett has friends and fans world wide who love him dearly. In Key West he has those as well, but he also has a very sizable amount, who really don't care for him at all.
It's like having a good friend, but when they become roomates things can change. Only a few months back, Margaritaville was picketted over one of his lawsuits.That's always been my view why he doesn't give any advance notice and what made this trip different than others in the past. Everyone knew ahead of time.

We had GWEKO on the prowel armed with his video camera for JB, as well as the other 200 Songwriters in town this week for the Key West Songwriters Fest. He's STILL on the prowel armed with a video camera and a large bottle of Mt. Gay. Keep you posted on that one!

Regarding the Swine flu, it's interesting that the tv people avoided Key West. Because of the flu, Key West is booming at the moment as cruise ships destined for Mexico, are all staying in port in Key West instead! HA HA HA! Ironic that NBC steered away siting the Swine Flu as reason...

Stomping my feet in a two-year-old temper tantrum. I wanna be in KW for Songwriters....

Those of you who had planned on being there may read what you wish into this... I was at the KW M'ville yesterday, and entered a draw for an acoustic guitar which they are giving away. On the ballot they require a phone number where they can contact the winner on MONDAY, in order to know what the lucker bugger would like Jimmy to write on the guitar. So even if the Today Show folks have jumped on the fear wagon, maybe Jimmy will still show up.
