Mea Culpa - 2001 A BN Odyssey

Post by FunkHouse9 »

Bless me BN, for I have a confession to make. A few years back, when I first started browsing BN, I thought some of you people must really have no lives. I mean, come on! If you have time for 500 or 1,000 posts, you obviously must have no life? I'm sorry, but you all really needed some friends.

I just noticed that after this message, I will have over 2,000 posts, and I don't think I really post all that often. I don't participate in MSC or setlist threads. The only place I'm a regular is the movie quote thread (besides the now defunct politics and lanyard threads :o ). Based on the friends I've made here, including the many I've never met in person, I can easily see how and why someone's post count could be sky high. I visit BN too frequently from work. I usually pop in after dinner. I've even found myself here in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. You all have developed such a fun community and I am happy to be a little part of it. You all have shared in some great times in my life and have given me some good guidance on many occasions when I needed it.

So thanks to you all for being a great group to socialize with. I look forward to meeting more of you as time goes on. Hopefully the next couple thousand posts are as interesting and fun as the first couple thousand.

Uh.......actually when I first started posting I had no life. It's because of the friendships I've developed here that I now have a life. I've met wonderful people, traveled to places I wouldn't have before BN and found the perfect husband here!! Life is good because of BN!! :D
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

When I joined, I didn't think you had a life either. Oh wait, was that my inside voice talking? Damn...
Seriously though, totally agree. For the past few years when I've gotten to Nissan, I hang out for an hour or so with the friends I came with and then go find all the BN'ers. My friends are sort of like "what the *****?" And while I haven't met too many people, the ones I have met are a trip. Hope to see you at Nissan for the neglected Thursday show. 8)

We may even cross paths at Warner in a couple weeks. I'll be down front blocking your view.

You win tickets to that too? I doubt you will be blocking my view; I got the cheap seats in the upper level.

You win 'em or buy 'em? If you won them, who did you win them from?

Won 'em from 101. I had to give a buddy's name. Since I had just gotten the other tix, I wasn't eligible again yet.

You're on my list of near misses. I was with Karat in Pittsburgh '07. We found some bn'ers. After a while I went back to find my buddy and she found you. I've always gathered that I got the better end of that deal, but she might tell you otherwise.

Well, I never had a life so you didn't offend me.

Congrats.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.
