Landshark Stadium; Miami Dol-fins?

Post by ChrisP »

How about the complete Buffett experience for Miami next season:

Stadium name change to Landshark Stadium
Team name modification to Dol-fins
Coral Reefer Band as house band for every home game!
Jimmy plays 1/2 time at Superbowl!
Life is a Buffett Buffet!

Why am I not surprised by this? Well, the Dol-fins is just bad.

I dunno. Seems kind of dodgy to me. Cause then yer gonna have people, ha ha, saying Landshart Stadium....

Is there a beer NFL named stadium? Bush Gardens? Or is that for baseball?

The replies to the blog are the funniest part of it.....here's a good one....

Chucky Gruden says:

Landshark Stadium!! Now there's a name that fits the team...and the brew's namesake. Overpriced, tasteless and little talent!!

I resent comments like these:

The Mayor of Margaritaville will join new team owner Stephen M. Ross for a press conference on May 8, during which they're expected to announce to announce a sponsorship deal with the singer-songwriter known for his odes to hedonism.

UGH . Seeing that I'm from Buffalo,NY . Love J.B. but can't stand the

"Fins" as they are already nicknamed. As Forrest Gump would say "thats all I got to say about that"

We vote for THAT.

Can you imagine the crowd in the stadium doing FINS ^^ I know it's been done at the concerts and first but it would still be cool.

JB setlist for 2010 Supe:

Brown Eyed Girl
Southern Cross
Cheeseburger
Fins
Margaritaville

He could get away with this because CIB is so short nowadays - under 3 minutes, at least on the live albums. And because, well, it'll be a home-field-advantage show. MCA would love it too - they'd have a huge amount of the box sets sell as well as SYKBH and Mailboat would promote T, TH, S as 'having the songs Jimmy played on the Super Bowl' on the packaging...

I just Googled Jimmy's name and this Land Shark Stadium business is front and center and all of the articles etc...don't like the idea at all, yet alone that they'll be hearing Fins every 3rd down...

Could be a bad move.

Truth be known, JB is somewhat of an "Earthy" individual. To the point that some Buffett web sites would ban him, if they didn't know it was him. He's not the goody-goody two shoes many make him out to be.

Ever heard the intro to the live version of "Cuban Crime of Passion" he did with Steve Goodman in Coconut Grove (Miami)?

the one with "Fonda" and "Connie"... WAHA HA HA HA!!!

Jimmy should buy the Dolphins, move them to Key West and reanoint them as the "Key West Parrotheads".

A stadium and parking lot would wipe out half that tiny little island.

And a better name would be the FLORIDA KEYS SURFPIRATES

We'd have some variation of THIS on our helmets ......
