Key West - 4th July Weekend

Hey there, how are you all doing?

I'm from England and going on a Family vacation to Orlando/Miami in July but going out early just with my dad to Key West for 4th July weekend before the family arrive in Orlando the week after!

I've been to Florida and Key West several times, i'm a big PH and know most of the bars and things down there!

Does anybody know if the bigger bars like Margaritaville, Hogs Breathe and Sloppy's require tickets or if they are just like a normal Saturday night but busier?

If anybody has any suggestions or advice that would be awesome!

I spent 8 straight 4th of Julys in Key West back in the late 80s early 90s when we used to house sit for friends for two weeks every year. None of the bars required tickets but all were crowded even tough it's the "off season" (and hot as hell that time of year). We used to go to "The Top" on the 7th floor of the La Concha Hotel (maybe a Crowne Plaza now?). It's always a great rooftop view of the town anyway .... great for sunsets in general ... and after looking west for the sunset you turn to look east for the fireworks.

But we had to get there very EARLY to grab a spot on the rooftop.

I haven't been to Key West over 4th of July for 15 years now though .... so hopefully someone else can give you some even more up to date info. Have fun!
