I dont think Jimmy is God. I dont think he owes the fans, nor do we owe him. This is a fan message board, not real life. Tickets had not even gone on sale for the shows yet, that is why I think this is humorous.
I love Jimmy's music and going to shows, and if he did not play somewhere I could go, I would be disappointed, but to expect him to grovel or say he has no respect for fans is a bit over the top dont you think?? It is music, it is a concert, not life or death. Maybe I have had too many big things (good and bad) in my life to get so worked up over a "cancelled" concert where the ticket on sale date never even happened.
I sincerely appologize for trying to put things in perspective. But then again if this is a tragedy to you, I guess you are luckier than you think.

now my 2 cents worth. Some of you really need to get a life. There are a hell of a lot of more important things in this wourld you could worry about besides canceled shows for which tickets had not gone on sale yet. Hey, I put the cart before the horse and bought my plane ticket for Las Vegas for the fall shows. However, after what happened to me this weekend in Las vegas I have no right to be disappointed.

All I know is that this terrible man who supposedly has no respect for his fans who happens to be named Jimmy Buffett spent a moment of his time with my guide dog Sammie and I while we were in Las Vegas at Margaritaville on Friday. He did not have to do that, and that man does not owe me anything. For that matter, he does not owe anyone squat. If you are so angry with Jimmy, do not go to his concerts anymore, and take your little followers with you. For every person who throws a hissy fit and does not go to a concert there will be more people who will want to be there.

Again it's not the fact that he cancelled the PNW shows what is it about that that can't get through you guy's head?

It's moreso with the fact that if JB does this to the West Coast final leg which venue could be next? I don't want anyone to have to go through what the West Coast peeps and people who planned for those shows are going through. It's not about me - it's about everyone. Unfortunately not too many people want to get beyond the complaint to realize that. People are complacent because he ALWAYS goes to their venue but after this who can really count on their venue now? Especially given the fact that JB obviously doesn't respect the fans enough to offer an explanation at all. I'm sure that all kinds of hell would be raised if Dallas, Cincy, Boston or Nissan would be cancelled in the same manner. Forget where the shows were cancelled and realize that next year it could be YOUR venue that he decides there are greener pastures to pursue and decides to blackball dates after he's announced them. How would you feel? Don't you people have any empathy for those that are stuck like chuck or is that all just a act? Right now for many of you it appears as if all the times you've yelled and complained about other things wrong in this world are just a put on - as long as you get your strokes you don't care what happens to others. Don't you guiys realize that by rideing the fence and leaning one way or another your a$$ is bound to get splinters one day? Vegas is my "home" venue....I'm disappointed that he cancelled there, but I don't think he owes me anything. If he decides not to tour at all anymore, thats his perogative as well. Its his life. Its his career. And he can make the choices he desires. In the past, I know there has been other tour modifications as well throughout the summer....its just that shows were never posted on margaritaville.com until a few months beforehand. Jimmy tries to please the masses this year by posting the entire tour's plan at the beginning of the season and now your making him out to be a bad person for attempting to please the fans. I don't know for sure why the shows were cancelled and don't really care.....in fact, I'm to the point now that I hope he never states a reason publicly as I'd see that as "caving" to those who claim Jimmy "owes" us something. The only time he owes me, you, or any other fan anything is when we buy a CD, a concert ticket, or some merchandise from his store.....when we do this, we are owed what we pay for and almost always get more than our moneys worth. Thats clearly not the case here so no matter if its our venue or not, we just need to accept it and move on.
