London in July??!

Post by mattamsam »

According to margaritaville Jimmy is going to be in London at the Shepard's Bush Empire on July 5th-fingers crossed this is true. Tickets aren't on sale yet according to the Empire's website and the show isn't even listed. Hope they are just being slow. Anyone been to this venue? How does it compare to New Morning? So excited as we can't make the show in Paris this year but this one is definately doable!!!

Don't know about Shepaprd's Bush but it looks like an out door venue???? Can our UK PH's enlighten us?????? The paris venue listed La Cingale looks like a regular concert or performance venue....New Morning was more of a club atmosphere...no seats and a "Mosh Pit" of sorts up to the edge of the stage.....Looks like Bubba is branching out......Should be interesting!!!! :D :D :D :D

Figures! He comes the closest to me in years for a concert and I'll be on holiday out of the country. I can't believe it.

It is definitely indoors, just not sure how big and how many it holds. According to wikipedia it started life as a music hall in the early 20th century. Hope the tickets go on sale soon!

Its a nice, proper, theatre venue - link with seating plan here

http://www.ticketline.co.uk/venue/londo ... ush-empire

If you look a bit further north on the google map you will see the Westway (!) and a bit further east along there is Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill where The Clash boys used to hang out (just a little piece of trivial information!)

Its a decent size venue Normally standing downstairs and seating in the 3 balcolneys although depending on demand these are not always open Its not the best part of london but there is a big walkabout ozzie themed bar next door amd the biggest mall in europe about 2 mins away Just dont walk back to the station through the park after the gig You may not like it

Oh yes! Thank you Jimmy! :D

This will be another different experience; after the intimacy of the New Morning last year, this theatre sized venue is just as rare an environment to see Buffett.

Can't wait for this one, the quest for tickets starts here.

I phoned the venue and they said the tickets aren't on their system yet and they didn't know when they would be. They said the best thing to do was to sign up for their email updates and to check the website, which is: http://www.o2shepherdsbushempire.co.uk/.

i wouldnt bother looking for hotels in this part of town You are 10 mins on the underground from the west end and 5 mins taxi ride from fulham There are some really nice hotels in those parts Try lastminute.com or trip advisor All the hotels around the bush are B&B which are full of undesirables and basically horrid.
