I am heading to Paulden, AZ this weekend, leaving possibly Fri, probably Sat. As a lot of you know I am taking care of my Aunt, now living in a nursing home in Los Angeles. She has a home in Paulden and I am going to take care of some chores out there. I look forward to the drive with the radio marg concerts. Everyone be cool while I am gone. If something happens, or you are bored and want to talk, call my cell (three one oh) 9 for ate, 0747. I will have a long drive across the Mojave Desert……

I will be back Monday, everyone have a good holiday weekend…

Take care and be safe. I thought I was the only person who knew where Paulden AZ. was/is. I salute you for taking care of your aunt and her property. I hope you will be careful as you drive I-40, the home of the accident prone. Thank you for caring about your aunt.

Thanks for the good wishes, I am glad to be home. I got a lot accomplished and am glad I went.

When I arrived I called the Sheriff and asked about local gun laws. Now in downtown Prescott there are citizens who walk around with a sidearm on their belt. No joke, no ‘cowboy costume’, that’s just the way they are there. I told the sheriff that I visiting and was still going by Calif law. Gun locked in one case, the ammo locked in another and the two cases nowhere near each other. I asked do I need to do that and un/reload every time I go to the house? He said no, as long as it’s in a holster that snaps shut and in plain view there is no problem. So I bought a holster, and acted very Arizonian. I felt patriotic driving around with a loaded gun in plain view on the passenger seat.

It is the start of monsoon season, big thunderstorms and all. It didn’t rain too much while I was there, but I did enjoy sitting on the porch Saturday night and watching the lightning. It’s like God’s fireworks show.

There was a western art exhibit in Courthouse Square in the middle of downtown Prescott. There were real cowboys there. It was good to see, but the prices of the art were way outta my range. I did not see one piece of graffiti, one purse snatching, not one car with a broken window due to a break-in. I don’t think I even saw anyone spit on the sidewalk. It’s a great small town. The waitress called me ‘hon’ and ‘sugar’.

I left at 4:30 this morning to head home. I needed to get to this side of Lake Havasu before all of the boaters. its a big weekend for them. Even though I have a lot of work to do there, I look forward to returning.

Sounds like a good trip, even if it is a fair amount of driving. I'm glad that you took the time to talk to the Sheriff and then did the right thing.

Actually I was going to ask one of the gun toters if I could take a photo with them, but didn’t want to reveal I was a visitor from Los Angeles.
