So, what was JB's best of the '90s? I'd have to say "Barometer Soup", though I'm setting this as another "pick 2" poll so I can vote for "Banana Wind", too.

Barometer Soup is quite possibly my favorite JB album, period. A1A has some better and more important songs, but I think Barometer Soup is probably just a bit more consistent.
Edited to add: I voted only for Barometer Soup simply because I consider it the best of the '90s, but I do love Fruitcakes and Don't Stop the Carnival as well.

I too picked BAROMETER SOUP and BANANA WiIND, but BEACH HOUSE needs some consideration . . . it has 'Pacing the Cage' and 'Flesh and Bone' and 'Oysters and Pearls' . . . .

I picked Fruitcakes because it has outstanding songs on it, for the most part (he could have left off Vampires... and put Trouble On The Horizon and it would have been a hell of an improvement), and it was his first album of the decade and it was HUGE.
Barometer Soup is probably my fave though - I just think Fruitcakes is better.

All of those are great albums.
But I chose Barometer Soup and Banana Wind.

So hard to choose...Barometer Soup followed by Beach House on the Moon.
