In light of 2 big names passing on today, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, I got to thinking about other days with 2 major names passing away. (Not counting when they die together, like on the Titanic, or the plane crash that took Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and Big Bopper)

I can remember:

Johnny Cash & John Ritter
Orson Welles & Yul Brenner
Jim Henson & Sammy Davis Jr.
John Adams & Thomas Jefferson (don't actually REMEMBER this one...)


Anyone else remember any?

I remember when Rock Hudson, Yul Brynner and Orson Welles died the same week. I know there are more, but can't remember the others.

Mother Teresa and Princess Diana the same week

Yep. And the night Princess Diana died, was the night of my 20 year high school reunion.

Two presidents-John Adams and Thomas Jefferson-died on the same day.
July 4th, 1826. The 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

And for those of you who know who he is, Stephen Collins Foster was born on that same exact day.

This week we lost a very beautiful and talented actress, the best "second banana" in the history of show business, and a bona fide FREAK!

Dr. Seuss and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

But he wasn't when I was in my teens, 20's, and 30's. So much talent. That's what I choose to remember.

Looks like on the same day that JFK was shot and killer, CS Lewis (author of the Narnia series, and novelist Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) both died as well.

Here's another trio I found:

Milton Berle, Dudley Moore, and Billy Wilder

Not the same day, but....

President Reagan and Ray Charles died within a week of each other.

When something like this happens, I always think of Kurt Vonnegut, the novel "Cat's Cradle", and the religion ("Bokonism") he created for the book.
Specifically, the terms 'karass', 'duprass', and 'wampeter'.

And now you have a brief but revealing insight into how *MY* mind wanders from time to time...

it's just very sad that her death is so overshadowed by MJ's.

She fought such a tough battle, and the form of her cancer was certainly not in the least ever to be glamorized.

Hers was horrendous and she opened up and shared some of the most disgusting aspects of her illness.

May she rest in Peace

I recall an article she said her teeth looked good because she'd had a lot of dental work. Farrah was truly a lady and that became very apparent towards the end.

But, at least, perhaps, her final hours before being committed won't be the circus that MJ's surely will be.

Yeah, that's one my daughter always notices, since she is/was a big Narnia fan, AND it's her birthay: she was born on the 20th anniversary of JFK's assassination.

Someone I used to work with's (bad grammar) wedding was the day after the night she died. Can you imagine all the retrospectives on your anniversary forever?
