Havent been around cause I had a horrible week. Nothing to do with the game-actual important stuff.
anyway, congrats to Chip- that was a the best onside kick you'll ever see. NFL teams should use it as a example.

That was textbook, wasn't it? I didn't know you couldn't advance the ball, I thought we were getting it on the 25 yard line.
The first field goal attempt looked terrible, he kicked a knuckleball. But that was because the center snapped the ball when MSU jumped offside (as he's told to). The holder wasn't ready, nor the kicker, but it was a free chance with nothing to lose.

Yeah, I thought it was OBVIOUS that the offsides caused the whole attempt to be rushed & led to poor blocking by the offensive line, thus, causing it to be a crappy kick. It was like when the "D" jumps offsides & the "O" goes ahead and snaps it & the QB tries to make a play. Many times guys aren't on the same page but you take a shot....it's a free play. I didn't look at it as a second chance was given. Now the fact that is was 5 yards closer WAS a nice bonus.

Just curious as a non-Canes fan, what qualifies for the Warning flags?
I think if they had scored those last two touchdowns and/ or stopped Georga Tech
on that big play touchdown..
It's still early..
But
if they can win against V Tech and Oklahoma..
the flags go up..

I was a little stunned that Florida was -30 against Tenn. today. Seemed a little bit high. All you SEC folks, is Florida that good or the Vols that bad?

I am obviously coming from a biased position, but I don't think it will be that bad. Tennessee's offense is inept for sure, but the defense is not that bad. My guess is Florida wins by 21.

WOW!! A week after knocking off Ohio State...USC goes down in Washington!
All week the pundits were saying the QB issue had no bearing on the game...just hand it off to McNight and co...guess they were wrong!

Bummer....apparently SC left their game in LA today...

Ever since the Huskies acquired Sark I've been saying that they would make a comeback...glad Sark was listening! Doesn't hurt quite so much since I'm a Husky fan too, but I have major issues with the offense's play calling. If something doesn't work you don't keep doing it!
Congrats dawgs, you were definitely the better team today.
On a brighter note...at least I don't have to worry about the rest of the season.

Not sure what to think about the UF/UT game. UF was just sloppy. Dropped balls, not getting off blocks, mistackles...they seemed to lack emotion. Give credit to UT though, they played their asses off and brought a damn good game. The refs p*** me off a little. UF DE gets a celebration penalty for spinning his hands after a big play. 2 minutes later, UT player gets a sack and pumps his fists and jams 'em in the air and carries on...same s***, no call at all. A play that clearly continued their last drive where they actually got a TD. Then a horrid missed call on an intentional grounding. Gave was never in question, but you hate to see officiating that bad for any team.

I will actually agree with you about the bad calls and I am glad that they didn't affect the outcome of the game. I thought UT's defense played well and the offensive line played well. It is hard to beat a team like Florida without a deep big play threat and Crompton ain't it.

Hey BEG! How about them dawgs! I'm not totally surprised, who knows SC better than Sark and Holt? SC's play calling was pretty strange . . what'd they have, about 150 yds rushing in the 1st qtr and then they switch to a passing game?

Well, maybe this is just what they gotta do, lose a game they shoulda won (last year the beavs, the year before the trees) and then run the table. The good news is that this puts them in second place behind the Huskies!

It's nice to see the Seminoles putting # 7 BYU back to BY "Who" status. 54-21 right now.
I knew the Noles could win but I did not know they'd violate them so brutally.

I have a feeling the O-line coaches won't be around after this year...losing Sark and Holt was just too much, and I think Pete settled instead of looking harder. And I've said it over and over, I never doubted the Huskies comeback...just was hoping it would be AFTER we played them.

I hope we can get Barkley back soon...but without solid backup this may just not be our year. I'll take losing to the Huskies over any other team, since I do have loyalty to them as well. Now we just have to hope that all of the top 25 loses at least one game, lol.
You're right, the curse of the road/league opener loss continues. But now the pressure is off, so they may rebound as usual. Or not.
(Wonder how much money it would take to bring Sark back...hmmmmmm

)

I'm not sure if they can even afford Holt, let alone Sark! I think Holt is the highest paid assistant coach in the country.

Florida scored more points, but this felt like a victory for Tennessee
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Tennessee beat Florida, 13-23, on Saturday in The Swamp.
Since Florida scored the 23, the Gators officially get credit for the win. Still, it cant feel like a victory to a prohibitive national title favorite that returned a Heisman Trophy quarterback and its entire two-deep on defense. Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin gave the Gators every reason to want to beat the Volunteers by 100. He called them out in December. Then he called out their coach in February.
Florida should have ended Saturday with backup quarterback John Brantley chucking passes to wide-open backup receivers and Gators coach Urban Meyer barely stifling a grin. Instead, starting quarterback Tim Tebow played the entire game, and Florida looked anything but invincible.
"It wasn't how we envisioned it would happen, but its a win," Tebow said. "That's enough for all of us."
Compare Tebows postgame attitude to Kiffin's.
"Were excited," Kiffin said. "There were a lot of young players playing in this game. A lot of our guys are going to be here a while. They know we get to play those guys every single year."
"I think we have a powerful message out in the country about what's going on in Tennessee football," Kiffin said. "I think you see it in the kids that just came in."
