3 - Tim Tebow will graduate from UF without ever losing to Tenn. Peyton Manning graduated without ever beating UF.
4 - Eric Berry has never beaten UF.

If moral victories actually counted as victories, the Vols would be the National Champs I guess. Instead of considering it a moral victory, I would be livid with Lane Kiffin's ineptness to call an offense. Being down 10 with less than five minutes left and he continues to call running plays and not use timeouts. It's a good thing that his father can coach. It's a shame for the Vols that they have a lot of talent that Fulmer helped bring to Tenn, yet they hired a complete tool for a head coach.
All true and we'll see how things go next year. But I will tell you this Urban Meyer is as much of a tool as Lane Kiffin.

You guys are really s.u.c.k.i.n.g the life and fun out of this thread. :-? Good natured jabs are one thing, but this stuff is over the top. We all love and support our teams and we need to be able to accept the bad with the good. We win some, we lose some. We're victims of bad or missed calls. We have to deal with bad playcalling and coaching. We have to put up with some idiot fans. But still we persevere...for the love of our team and the love of the game. And *that* is what unites us, just like our love of Jimmy's music. Let's not lose sight of that, please. Good sportsmanship isn't just for players.

I'm so glad I went to a college that didn't have a football team. No angst in the fall.

BTW, when did being a fan degenerate into ragging on other teams and their fans instead of just rooting for your team? That's themain reason I rarely post in any of the sports related threads.

It's just a little trash talk. They're passionate about their team and we are passionate about our team, but I am done with Florida trash talk for another year.

It seems more than trash talk to me when it makes me want to follow Larry's lead and not post in the thread. Every year this seems to turn into a Gators/Vols thread, posts by other folks are generally lost in the shuffle...and it stops being fun. Guess I'm the only one who feels this way. :-?

You're right. I should have not responded while being called a "gayturd" and ignorant. I take most of this as good-natured ribbing and I think those of us in this rivalry understand that. This isn't the only thread that people have chosen to resort to name calling and flat-out verbally attacking individuals.

I do appreciate you pointing this out. I'm done with this place.

Go Gators!

You are not the only one. My team is a mid-major (whatever that is), I want to see everybody in the league win when they play out-of-conference games. Makes my team look better when we beat them! Leave the trash talking to the players, some of them do enough of that for all of us.

Except for Western Michigan, who can lose every game, in every sport, in every year as far as I'm concerned.

No disrespect either, I too dislike the Gators and suddenly they don't look like the best thing since sliced bread.

as for trash talking...this pretty much sounds like sports radio to me.

Feesh, your ignorance of the game of football is really showing. Considering the talent level Kiffin inherited, his playcalling to keep us in the game yesterday was tremendous! Crompton is terrible....absolutely terrible. Why on earth would we have thrown the ball while Florida defenders sat back in coverage licking their chops? Kiffin managed to use him as little as he had to and keep us in the game. I know you'd love to badmouth Kiffin's offensive playcalling, trying to distract attention from the fact that your boys put 8 in the box the whole game and still couldn't stop our running game. How about our very thin offensive line and running game wearing down your defense in the 4th quarter? Wanna talk about that? Sure, you won. Sure, you may win another national title. But you know what?......Tebow won't be here next year. Brandon Spikes won't be here next year. Bryce Bown will be. Janzen Jackson will be. Eric Berry might. The future under Lane Kiffin looks very bright! I also would like to thank the Florida coaching staff for bringing in so many recruits to watch the game. They're not stupid. They can see what the future holds. Oh the times, they are a changing! We'll just let Eddie Gran continue to cherry-pick talent out of Florida as we prepare for the future of BIG ORANGE FOOTBALL! GO VOLS!!!
It was our equivalent to the Ole Miss game last year. Our first test, they were still rusty, more or less. This defense was one of the best last year. They had an off game. Big deal. It's not like your guy suddenly turned into Adrian Peterson.

As for your future, yeah, it may be very bright. The recruits comment is ignorant though. They saw the crowd, the fans, the atmosphere, and a team that may have immediate playing time available for a coach who's won 2 NC's in 3 years and loves to play freshman. Yeah,Meyer sure made a mistake bringing in those recruits :-?

Btw, for what it's worth, our play calling, both defensively and offensively, was VERY basic. They played it close to the vest, it's all they had to do to win with UT playing to not get blown out. Meyer was smart to not reveal the injuries or sickness we had, though it would have been obvious if you were paying attention. #1 WR Thompson - Injured and did not play. Spikes played with tendinitis in his Achilles. #1 DE Cunningham had the flu. #1 TE Hernendez and #1 RB Demps both had the flu and only had a couple plays. #1 WR Cooper had a pinched nerve. No idea if this had a huge effect on Meyer's game plan or not, but it definitely made a difference in execution.

The funny thing (and frustrating thing) is Adazzio (our OC) said he kept expecting certain blitzes on 3rd down from Kiffin and never saw them. But he didn't adjust for it. Bonehead

tattedgator,
I think it was more the equivalent of the Miami game last year. Never in doubt but a little closer than expected.

But this time they hung on to win despite losing their star reciever to a broken collar bone. :pirate:

What td was that?? the one the refs got right by calling it incomplete on floyd? Only to have the homer NBC dudes say it was a touchdown over and over showing how much they dont know about the rules of college football. For the record, the continuation rule states you must maintain control and possession thru impact with the ground. The defender had a hand on the ball so he didnt have possession and it came out before he hit the ground. The refs got it right, of course the Nbc homers only said that in the second half for about 10 seconds dont want to p off their employers Notre Dame.

Sorta like me with all the Bucky stuff I've accumulated since the dawn of time...
(Funny story...when I was in college my Dad saw a small stuffed Bucky advertised in the alumni mag so he decided to order it for me for Christmas. Christmas Eve a HUGE box that could have fit a small child was delivered with my name on it. No one could figure out what it was or who it was from, but my Dad was majorly bummed that Bucky hadn't arrived. Christmas day rolls around and it's time to open the big box. Inside was a 3 ft tall stuffed Bucky. :o Apparently they'd run out of the small ones and probably thought it was a Christmas present for a kid and they didn't want to disappoint, so they sent the big one instead. I still have it. :D )

Since Dad now has nowhere to wear the Bucky tie I got him years ago and it's often too warm for his sweatshirt, I just ordered him a Bucky hat, and one for me too. I figure he can wear it on his walks and show off his Wisconsin pride. :D

Oh, and I have that purple spot too.

MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week: Central Michigan KR Antonio Brown

Junior punt returner Antonio Brown (Miami, Fla.) totaled 113 yards on three punt returns (37.7 avg.), including a 55-yard punt return for a touchdowns in Central Michigan's 48-0 win over Alcorn State. Brown also had punt returns for 30 and 28 yards, both of which set up the Chippewas' offense inside the Alcorn State 25-yard line and led to scoring drives.
Wooo! Antonio Brown is the CMU player at a "talent" position that will have the best shot at playing on Sundays in a couple of years.
