Who thinks which one was the better single?

I like Hey Good Lookin' but the video is just so so. I like TATS and thought the video was fantastic.

Any idea which one got more coverage? CMT, radio, etc...? I think it was HGL from what I can recall, CMT wise.

No idea which got more coverage, but I personally prefer TATS's video and the song itself. Props to a good Hank Williams tune, but I just like TATS better. More complex and symbolic. Two totally different types of songs.

I saw that HGL placed higher on the country singles chart than Trip. But Trip was a way better video.

I just don't judge songs by their video at all.
That's like judging a book by the movie that follows it.

Well, certainly you must here a (bad) song on the radio and think of the clever or brilliant video (Bon Jovi? Def Leppard? etc...) they had for it...

"Trip Around the Sun" was one of the highlights of this album for me. I really like the song and the video is pretty good. Although, Jimmy flying the bi-plane around does not make a lot of sense...

Dave and I favor TATS. Everytime we hear we think of Megan.

I do like HGL but gets me at the heartstrings and HGL is a more upbeat song.

TATS here too, one of the better songs on that CD, it has a lot to say.
I hear HGL I hear hard core old time country music which I have never been a fan of.
Plus in the shower I sound just like Martina McBride

I like both songs but TATS comes out ahead. As others have said, TATS is more thoughtful and HGL is more an upbeat, get-moving sort of song.

I think the part of JB flying in that bi-plane was a nod and a wink at the 'holdin' on while this ol' world keeps spinnin' and the rest of the lyrics about it being out of the control of people, etc...

Not the biggest fan of "Trip Around The Sun", but I remember Martina made a guest appearance in Chicago a while back and sang it with Jimmy. I liked the song much more after I heard her and Jimmy singing it live.

I wonder if Jimmy hooked up with Martina while makng the video?

I was being facetious with my statement, but after watching the video, doesn't it seem like they have a lovey relationship? I mean, riding beach cruisers on the beach in the sunset, and sitting so close while singing around a camp fire, as Jimmy lightly strums his guitar to Martina.

I prefer TATS, song and video. HGL seems too patched together if that makes sense.
