Sail on.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

The best ever.
Sail on, Mr. Cronkite.
The only newsman that spent more time in Vietnam than I did.

A stellar journalist and a stellar human being.
I'll forever remember him on two historic dates-November 22, 1963 and July 20, 1969.

I know many a young journalist that looked up to Mr Cronkite. He set the standard for integrity in journalism.

Sail on Mr. Cronkite.  My parents still tell the story of how I would be in my playpen as a toddler and would be crying or the like and when he would come on the evening news, I would stand up and hold on to the side of the playpen and watch him. Even as a toddler I knew he could be trusted. :D :D

Now THAT stirs my emotions.
Thanks, Wade-that's so nice.

Among other things, Mr. Cronkite, as a war correspondent in W.W. II, flew on bombing raids over Germany, stormed the beach at Normandy on 6-6-44, and, 20 years later returned there with former president Eisenhower.
He also has an asteroid named after him-6318CRONKITE.

And how many people remember his appearance on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" as himself?

Sail on Walter.

He defines the phrase "We'll never see the likes of him again" and the world is a sadder place because of that.

Sail on Walter. You were the best news anchor of all time.
I knew he was very sick - how ironic that he passed during the 40th Anniversary of Man on the Moon.
As we all know - Jimmy was good friends with Walter. In fact, I believe, at Walter's 90th birthday party - there were about 20 invited guests- and Jimmy Buffett was one of those.
You will be greatly missed, Walter.

"...and that's the way it is..." :(

Interesting how close to the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. I'll always remember my mom getting me up to watch the Mercury, then Gemini, then Apollo launches - always with Walter Cronkite as the unofficial 'voice' of the space program. The world was a much better place with you telling the story, Walter. Thank you for the memories.

Sail on...
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!

:( Some people really should be immortal. Nothing I can say would do him justice ... Walter was incomparable. And THAT's the way it is.
