Jimmy Sings about a Bar...South Florida

Not the Flora-Bama.....but there's a bar I stopped at coming back from Key West to Miami. Was sort of "out-of-the-way" and next to a small river/creek. Jimmy sings about it (maybe in Live by the Bay) somewhere. It's sort of open-air with a roof. it's literally right on the road. What's it called? Help! I feel like it's near a toll booth of some sort! And not the major interstate toll booth.

It sounds like you're describing Alabama Jack's but I'm not sure that I've ever heard Jimmy sing about it.

If memory serves me right, he wrote about it in Tales from Margaritaville.

HOLY MOLY that has to be it....THANK YOU (it is in Florida, right?). Watch LIVE BY THE BAY. During Stars On the Water he says "stop at Alabama Jacks for a cool Corona Beer.....".

Jim Morris *does* mention AJ's in his song, "Southward." One of my favorite Jim Morris tunes.

Oh yeah, Alabama Jacks, first stop every trip going south of Homestead. Last time I was there they didn't have any Corona
, offered me a Landshark instead.

I think Jimmy mentions AJ's in the Live By The Bay version of Rag Top day...when he lists all the places he'll stop on the way down to Key West.
