Farrah's Will: $6M to Troubled Son

Farrah Fawcett left nearly all of her $6 million estate to troubled son Redmond, but took steps to ensure the jailed druggie doesn't squander it.

The "Charlie's Angels" actress, who died of cancer on June 25 at age 62, updated her will two years ago, after learning her anal cancer had spread to her liver, according to KTLA television in Los Angeles. The majority of her estate was placed in a trust fund for Redmond, who is 24 years old and serving time for drugs. Nothing was left to Fawcett's longtime lover, Ryan O'Neal.

Does he need any? Did this come as a surprise to him?

My grandmother remarried late in life. Both had reasonable means and didn't need the other's money. Unfortunately, they didn't discuss this. My grandmother died first and didn't leave him anything except the right to live in her house as long as he wanted. Apparently, he was going to leave her quite a bit. All this caused a lot of unnecessary hard feelings.

Whenever someone dies, rich or poor, people fight about money. It tears families apart…

99% of the time it absolutely does.

When my wife died last year, she left everything to me, and said to give her two adult children whatever I wanted to.
The only thing my step daughter wanted was some of her mother's jewelry I'd given her (and some of which she had for several years before she'd met me), and the only things my step son wanted was some of his mother's cookware.

When I consider the pain they've both been through (having lost both parents before they're even in their mid-30's), that, and when I look at the lives they've made for themselves and how well their both doing in their chosen professions, I have to say how awesomely proud I am of both of them.
(Yeah, despite the fact they're not biologically mine, I DO brag about both of them).
They each stand to inherhit a decent sum of $$$$ on the day I assume room temperature, although I've never told them.
(I'm proud, not stupid).

OH, and when my parents pass on (most likely within the next couple years), I'm GUESSING all will remain civil between my brother, oldest sister, and myself, and am also guessing my youngest sister will have her claws out.
But you never know-she is good at surprising people, so we'll see.
