I am thinking it is a buzz phrase.. a crutch...
I spoke with my landlord a few weeks back..
we have an Apt. in my Building that is empty
She tells me it will take a while "in this Economy"
to rent it out.. she hopes "2 or 3 months"

Which leads to this
I want to upgrade my Dish so that I can get local channels (maybe HD)
my dish is in a barrel on a pole in front of the Apt.
my neighbor.. HE got to put his dish (wrong company) on the house..
I ask, Can I have my dish installed on the building also??

her answer? no.. I mentioned that I understood that If I were allowed
to install my dish.. I would commit to staying for "quite a while, 4-5 years"
NO is the answer.. SO I try the Well with no dish I have no Commitment.....
No.. I don't want another one on the building...
so am in the process of looking for a new place. (no hurry I will not settle)

I wonder when I go, how long it will take to rent..TWO empty apts.

Sounds like your landlord is not thinking "long term" or "big picture" to use a couple other buzz phrases. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Good for you! There are some upsides to "this economy". Landlord predicted that business would be booming with the housing market going bust. What actually happened was that people who couldn't afford a house, moved in with family or others that couldn't afford housing.

As a side note, I would be careful about going with a particular satellite company. I hear they have some pretty crazy people working there.

There is no reason for your landlady to be so one way about this situation.
Good for you sticking to your guns. I hope you find a great place for a better
price soon. Just make sure you have room for me and Connie to come visit. :D

Sounds pretty unreasonable to me.

My landlord knows I am a good tennant ... funny how the rent was going up and up and now all of a sudden it has stopped - figuring they should probably keep a tennant in a stable job and "mature" [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
