Brooks and Dunn calling it quits
Next Summer will be their final tour and then they are retiring and spliting up.
About 6 years ago they tried to start a giant tour that they called the Brooks and Dunn Carnival Rodeo or something like that. Their idea was to hopefully have it become a staple of summer and they said "hopefully it will turn into something like Jimmy Buffetts tours". Of course it didnt.

That's too bad, they still are making great music.

Wow...I'm surprised too. I remember seeing them years ago in Augusta Ga when they were an opening act for Reba.

I remember the mad rush for Tiger Stadium tickets. People were so scared they would never see them again they paid thousands for tickets.......and they played the Casino in Windsor this year. hahahahahahahaDr.Corona wrote:Dear Brooks & Dunn,

Yeah, sure. Most musicians/groups who retire find out they really miss the fans' adoration and the creative outlet and all that stuff. Oh, and the money.
Then they come back. Thank goodness (sometimes).

It's always kind of sad when things like this happens, but I guess in retrospect it is a way to celebrate their career. And as mentioned before we can still listen to their CD's

Nothing increases ticket sales like your first farewell tour.

(The writing was on the wall the year they didn't win "duo of the year", IMHO)
Just sayin'...and I like them.

Re: Brooks and Dunn calling it quits
It's pop country. Will anyone care if they reunite for reunion tour? They were probably heading to county fair circut where nearly all bad country acts turn up at sooner or later. Can't blame them for trying top pull in a decent payday before it's over. Pop Country fans are fickle. Brooks & Dunn-Montgomery Gentry-Rascall Flatts-is there really that big of a difference?Dezdmona wrote:Nothing increases ticket sales like your first farewell tour.![]()

Re: Brooks and Dunn calling it quits
I liked them years ago, favorite song being ("Mexican Minutes") but their recent songs were kinda lame. I mean "Cowgirls don't Cry"?
Nevertheless I'm sure they'll be back.
