Can you set up total recorder for a time? To make it record, make sure it's set to software (I think, I'm away from my home computer). Then start playing RM, and hit record on TR

Yes, you can set TR to start at a particular time...

From the TR application select Options > Schedule.

To record this saturdays show set the date to 10/13/2001 and the start time to 20:00:00 hours. Stop time to 23:00:00. Then click the OK button, which takes you back to the original schedule screen, click OK again, you're almost done...

Now... just before you leave the house.. connect to the Radio Margaritaville station and leave your browser connected (music playing), now quietly and gently walk out of the room.

Or if you are St. Somwhere, ask your girlfriend to stay home and watch the screen for you.

That's all there is to it...

Thanks guys for turning me on to TR! I'd been meaning to research a way to record off RM for a while. It was easy and it rocks!

I like to record every show I attend. But since my wife goes with me, we leave the kids at home with a babysitter.

Since Radio Margaritaville has a way of dying on me just as the show is starting, I have my 8-year-old parakeet record the shows for me. It works great!

Just my $0.02 worth.

Can you explain this Total Recorder to me? How does it work, where do you get it, how is the quality? Sounds pretty cool... I'd like to record some live shows off RM. Thx!

TR is a software programs that allows you to record RM shows. It's $12, I believe (well worth it). The quality depends on your connection. With my cable modem, I can get stereo connections. When I burn the CD's they sound almost as good as a live CD (feeding frenzy, t,th,s). I think the website is totalrecorder.com

Can anyone tell me how to track the songs? And is it too late once you have recorded the show already?

Well... my appologies to those that attempted to use the scheduler to capture the concert stream from RM...

It appears that RM reboots their Real Music Server prior to a concert (don't know why), which of course kills the connection you previously established and requires that you reconnect in order to record.

So.. if you are like me.. and were a hundred miles from your computer during the concert, you too got home to discover that the recording process broke and left you stranded...

I'm hoping someone somewhere had better luck and can offer a copy of the broadcast to us "less fortunates".

To track the songs, open up the show in TR. Then mark the begining and end of the particular song. Then save as. Do this for the entire show. This is a very broad overview, but it should help ya

My RM connection didn't break (and I setup ahead of time). I just forgot to clear enough space. I have a ton of shows on my computer and they take up 1 gig+ each....oops

I've got the first half
