Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica

We are planning our first visit to Costa Rica in February, 2010. The first three nights we are staying with friends at their house near Puerto Jimenez on the Pacific Coast. The next four nights we are looking for a beachside resort, maybe something with cabana style rooms right on the beach. We'd like to stay in the general vicinity of Puerto Jimenez, but would be willing to take a puddle jumper somewhere else down the coast. Would anyone who's visited the area want to share their experiences and suggestions? Thank you in advance!
