remaining shows

Post by Pirate Steve »

Hi folks. Maybe someone here can help me. I was at the show in Alpine Valley a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, I bought tickets way back and spent major coin to get 10th row center and a VIP parking pass. UNFORTUNATELY, during the pre-show get together in the parking lot, somebody slipped me something and I really don't remember the entire show except for about 20 minutes.......very unfortunate and disappointing to say the least.

I want to catch another show before the end of the year but I am confused by the tour dates listed on Jimmy's site. There are shows in Florida, Conn., and New York listed but there was a comment in the newsletter about the "Summerzcool" tour being over and that some dates in October were cancelled and that they will see everyone in Vegas and in 2010. I don't even see a Vegas date listed.

Are the dates in November still on? Why have tickets not been put on sale? Are they not part of the same tour? I also noticed that the remaining arenas are all indoor, even the one in Orlando. Is that something new? I always thought he did outdoor shows only.

What really makes me bummed the most is that I have not been able to see the show for the last 5 years here in the Chicago area because Jimmy always seems to come the same week every year and it conflicted with a family vacation we take every year that falls on the same date. For some reason, this year, there were no shows anywhere in July and we were overjoyed to find that he would be coming in August this year and now it was all for nothing. And I bet next year he goes back to the old schedule and I will have missed my chance.....major bummer!!

I really hope that the Conn. show is for real. We have freinds that live close to the arena and have a ticket connection. Airfare is cheap too.

Anyway, any information would be appreciated!!!!!!

Thanks, Pirate Steve....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Here are the remaining 5 shows scheduled in November:

11.14.09 - Orlando, FL - Amway Arena
11.17.09 - Charlottesville, VA - John Paul Jones Arena
11.19.09 - Toronto, Ontario - Air Canada Centre (on sale TBA)
11.21.09 - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena (on sale TBA)
11.24.09 - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden (on sale TBA)

Yes they will be Summerzcool shows, Jimmy does not change tours until early spring each year.

As to the venues listed above, Jimmy has been playing the last three regularly since 2005. He does not play only out door shows he has played indoor shows a number of other places. These include Boston, Charlotte, Vegas to name a few.

As to the "cancelled" shows that were listed for October they were listed as a second west coast tour leg. October has normally been when Jimmy shifts from the east to the west, however this year he went to the west coast first and decided that one west coast leg was enough.

I am not sure about the "TBA" on ticket sales, my advice would be to check either ticketmaster's website or the sites for each venue.

rumor up in New England is that Mohegan goes on sale 9/14. Which means that the announcement of ticket sales will be on 9/12.

I know it really doen't matter, but I too was wondering why everyone, even Jimmy himself, refered to Saturday as the last "scool session" of the tour when it keeps on going - but as long as he keeps playing, I won't complain.... maybe this was the undergrad part and the rest of the year is like grad school ?

His people haven't told him yet that's he's going to be in Canada, CT and NY during November when it starts to get cold. They must be waiting to surprise him.

Very strange - Mohegan Sun's website has no mention of the November 21st show, and ticketmaster has no tickets on sale for Buffett at this time.

Any one know what's going on?

The way shows are being dropped right and left I wouldn't make any plans until tickets go on sale.

Yup...especially given the front-page article indicating that the 11/14 Orlando show has been dropped from the margaritaville.com site schedule. Good thing I wasn't planning to stay the extra day. :)

And as long as Shuttle Atlantis launches on 11/12, I'll be happy with my upcoming trip to north Florida, Jimmy or no. :)

at this point, if it were me looking for concert dates...

I wouldn't trust the official site, I wouldn't trust Jimmy saying something during a concert, nor would I trust the venue's own website.

Ticketmaster, perhaps. and that is a sad comment.

Ok. Is anybody buying this? “Somebody slipped me something and I really don't remember the entire show except for about 20 minutes”. What 20 minutes did you remember?

“What really makes me bummed the most is that I have not been able to see the show for the last 5 years here in the Chicago area because Jimmy always seems to come the same week every year and it conflicted with a family vacation we take every year that falls on the same date” – that is bs as the dates always change give a week or two plus you do have the choice of going to other states as Indianapolis, Wisconsin or Pa. You don’t have to fly to Connecticut.

“I want to catch another show before the end of the year but I am confused by the tour dates listed on Jimmy's site.” – You are generally confused. Pay me to be your personal assistant. I will get you tickets to the show of your choice and book your airfare, hotel, daycare and whatever else you need. This is not grade 1…

I saw that but I let it go. I remember, though, earlier this year someone else criticized Alpine Valley because he claimed the beer vender at the concession stand slipped something into his gf's drink (link). I wondered if it might be the same guy using a new log-in.

"Everybodies cousin in Miami,

Hey tool, what is it exactly that you think I am trying to sell? I certainly don't know you from Adam but I can certainly figure out that you are one big jag! Let me explain it so that even you will understand even though it may take you a few minutes to process.....

You actually want me to recall the exact 20 minutes or so of time that I spoke about as if that will make it more believable? Let's see, I remember the songs "One Particular Harbor" and "A Lot To Drink About", a few bits and pieces of the intermission and a couple of songs in the second half. I don't know if that adds up to actually 20 minutes or not but I believe that it is close enough since the main reason for my post was to try to get information about Mohegan show listed in Nov. Sorry if I was off a minute or two.

I did go back and look at the tour dates over the past 5 years and you are absolutely correct that the dates vary each year. So, to re-word my statement to make you satisfied, I will simply say that for the last 5 years, for some reason or another, whatever dates J/B was in my area conflicted with vacation plans we already had. Got it?

I am well aware oh "Captain of the Obvious" that I could, if I wanted, travel to another city to see the show. I guess you should have figured out that I knew that too since the whole jist of my post was to ask about the Mohegan show and that we have friends there etc.

As far as being "generally confused goes", let me again slow this down so you can catch up, I said that I was confused about why there are shows listed in New York, Ct. on the site but was wondering why they were not on sale yet and time is running out. Sorry if you assumed that I would somehow know the answer to that question. Again, that is why I posted it in the first place. I guess I should have not shared any of the additional information about my story or circumstances since it obviously sent you into a tail spin trying to wrap your little pea brain around it.

Hope I was able to enlighten you a bit. If not, sucks to be you!
