Buffett Related Videos
Starting this for some Buffett Video Related discussion:
There is an area here on Buffettnews called MERCHANDISE and it has a lot of the videos that Jimmy is in or has been involved with.
http://www.buffettnews.com/merchandise/videostore/
Thought it would be fun to have some discussions/comments about some of those videos.
I just rewatched THE FIRM, because it was mentioned on SandBar Radio.
Trailer of the Firm
Along with hearing the little clip of Jimmy singing Stars on the Water during the truckstop scene where RAY sneaks away from the feds...
THE FIRM also has James "Sunnyjim" White as a poolside singer down at the Hyatt in the Caymans when Abby meets Avery to detain him... The clip is only about 5 seconds, but it's nice to hear BLAME IT ON THE RUM in that movie too.
And from youtube Sunnyjim and BLAME IT ON THE RUM.

I've been collecting Buffett-related video for awhile for an eventual compilation DVD. This is one of my favorites (circa 1975).

Do you ever hold his mouth closed when he's singing so it sounds muffled?
Mine's within arm distance here too...

I also watched URBAN COWBOY today. Jimmy's cover of HELLO TEXAS written by Brian Collins and his drummer, Robby Campbell and made popular by Jimmy in Urban Cowboy.
You can click here to listen to Brian Collins version of Hello Texas on his myspace:

Bud dances with Pam in a fancy Texas C&W Bar to Hello Texas...click on minute 8:30 right after Florine "pops her titties"...she was at the Dolly Parton look-alike contest.

And in memory of Rusty Wier, here's Bonnie Raitt's version of "Don't It Make You Wanna Dance."

Rancho Deluxe - Livingston Saturday Night at 0:15.
Re: Buffett Related Videos
This is the photo of Jimmy that appears in the inside gatefold of the double vinyl record sountrack for the movie RM made in 1978. The old vinyl is worth the price just for this photo if you can find it.conched wrote:Any guesses what movie is next?![]()
The DVD cannot be found except from sellers at a HUGE $$$ markup, but I have the Laser Disc to watch over and over as long as my LD Player keeps on humming.
I may be the only person in the world who has watched FM Movie (1978) SO many times. I love the movie, because it gives a perfect pictuer of where FM radio went in the late 70s. The acting isn't so hot, but the way the movie is put together with the songs is great and I could listen to this soundtrack over and over.
Jimmy's SAVE THE WHALE concert footage in the film is "Livingston Saturday Night" and it is a super version of that song, although it is NOT TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE ON THE NET.
Tim Krekel, who recently left this ole world, can be seen playing guitar. Jay Spell is on piano; Harry Dailey on bass, Kenny Buttrey on drums, and our old friend, Greg "Fingers" Taylor does a great harp solo. QSKY FM RADIO carries the concert live! So they did play Jimmy on the radio before Radiomargaritaville.
The video opens with the music of Steely Dan on the song written for the movie:

Thanks for the pointer. Wasn't aware of this movie. Grabbed this trailer for my library. Off to search for long lost copies of the movie or soundtrack floatin around on the net.
FM The Movie - trailer
Jimmy Buffett singing Livingston Saturday Night at about 0:44
Re: Buffett Related Videos
And for those of us who enjoy Linda Ronstadt, this is the footgage from FM of Tumbling Dice recorded at the Summit in Houston in 1978. She is joined by Waddy Wachtel on guitar and Dan Grolnick on keyboards, on drums, Rick Moratta, Kenny Edwards on bass, and Dan Dugmore on guitars/pedal steel.
The movie has a much better version of this and Poor Poor Pitiful Me and Love Me Tender.

Hey, Bob, thanks for that. Do you have the link to that thread handy? I had forgotten about that one. Love it. All too fun! Especially Robert Greenidge!
