I'm calling fake on the drunk guy. There's no way an employee would have let him stay in the store like that. Furthermore, I don't know anyone who's gotten falling down drunk who still wants to drink more- usually by that point you're trying not to puke.

It does seem a little beyond belief, but we don't know the whole story. Perhaps this particular Mini-Mart was on the PD's list for selling underage or serving obviously intoxicated people. One more infraction or incident might have cost them their license, so they didn't want to get the cops involved unless they absolutely had to.

You will note that they were trying to get the guy to the door and outside. Once he's outside he's not their problem any longer.

The one thing I do find surprising is that according to the time line on the video, the guy was flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water for almost three minutes before the man in the red shirt noticed/took any action.

As for the second video (the woman falling through the trap door), I'm betting that there was either an immediate settlement offered/made, or the filing of a lawsuit that even I could have argued and won .... and my legal training consists of reruns of Perry Mason.

First vid of the drunk guy, he is putting on an act. Its funny, but a show.

The vid of the woman falling into the basement is absolute gold. Now *that* is funny.

Actually, not true. They can be held liable for letting him leave. He is a danger to himself and others. The video cameras would keep them from being liable, but at this stage, it is their responsibility to call the authorities. If someone leaves your place, gets in a car and kills someone, you can lose your liquor license, even if you did not serve him one drop. And you can't GET a liquor license without taking a class that explains this in detail.

A few years ago, I was on vacation in Florida. Someone overserved a guest in our restaurant, he got in a car, and killed someone. The restaurant did not lose their liquor license, but they did receive very heavy fines, as did the server, the bartender, the Managers. I had to go to court to prove that I was out-of-state and could not be held liable. I was also the only one who kept my job.
