Corolla OBX beach off-road question
I am heading to the OBX for Thanksgiving. Never been there before. I want to drive my Jeep Wrangler on the north beach of Corolla. I have done research on all of the off-road regulations. My question is where is the closest gas station or business that provides air so I can inflate my tires since I will be letting out air for my off-road driving. Are there many gas stations in the Corolla or Duck area? Thanks for any info. you can provide. I know there has to be many BN'ers with OBX knowledge!

Re: Corolla OBX beach off-road question
Last time I was up that way (3-4 yrs ago) there was an old-timey general-store-type-place with gas pumps right at the north end of town, near the lighthouse. I suppose they have an air pump, but no guarantee.
I bought my own little air pump, because we were on and off the beach, sometimes twice a day. It plugs into the cigarette lighter (remember those?) and fills your tires up before you even get back onto paved surfaces. A pressure guage is a good idea also.

Thanks bravedave. I may have to get one of those mobile air compressors.

Re: Corolla OBX beach off-road question
Vacationed on the beach for several years in Corolla. Gas station/store/pizza place within a mile of the road's end. With the tide out you really don't need to deflate the tires.
