Buffet Hotel
Whaddaya'all think? One more stab at getting a number one album? I know that's not why he does it but it seems possible. I'll get the record the day it comes out - if I can find it. I can see it being released and JB just chilling out in south FLA or wherever he's gonna be for the rest of the year.
Looking forward to a new Buffett record. The album cover reminds me of his earlier work for some reason. Maybe he's getting back to that old making fun of country kind of country music.

Other releases for December 8:
Clipse
Snoop Dogg
Chamillionaire
Timbaland
Usher
Robin Thicke
Hurricane Chris
Eminem
30 Seconds To Mars
I'm thinking more people by JB's new record than Eminem's. Or Snoop's. Or Timbaland's.

Re: Buffet Hotel
We're really excited about the new album.
We've already decided to do a pre order and still go to a local store and buy a second copy to add to our Buffett collection in the car. We always spend the money for JB. The others......not so much!! Honestly, not at all!!

I dunno. Eminem hasn't had a release since 2006. Between him, Snoop and Usher you've got a huge fan base there. I don't know Timbaland at all but I think Snoop and Eminem might top his salesHurricaneSeason wrote:Other releases for December 8:

It would be slightly funny if Jimmy got beat out by some rappers as far as chart placement goes. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the new album.

Eminem just released an album a few months back so his might just be a compilation.
But in the end I don't really care how it charts as long as it charts with me

Actually, that's not as far-fetched as it seems. Judging from the racket coming out of car speakers these days, there's a lot of people out there — people I would have never thought as giving a damb about (c)rap music — who listen to that noise.HurricaneSeason wrote:It would be slightly funny if Jimmy got beat out by some rappers as far as chart placement goes. I'm all over the place musically, Bocephus to Buffett to Beastie Boys.Bicycle Bill wrote:Actually, that's not as far-fetched as it seems. I like the old school stuff when it was all about fun.
With Jimmy rocking the mic lately maybe he could sign me up to DJ for the band and cut up some old Buffett tunes

Wow, that's really negative. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others can't appreciate it. Personally, I don't like most Opera, Broadway showtunes or Bluegrass music, but I can appreciate their talent. Same goes for Rap music...some I like, others I don't.Bicycle Bill wrote:Actually, that's not as far-fetched as it seems. Jimmy could change his lyric to:
Over there in Chiney they got smart real fast
Wal Mart will buy our cheap garbage over and over
Because it won't last

Ha ha. Yeah... I know not everything at Wal Mart is Made In China.
I can't recall exactly where but I think there is a JVC CD printing plant in Alabama that prints a lot of CDs for the big labels, etc.

Re: Buffet Hotel
So what do people think of this record so far?
I'm digging it. I really like We Learned To Be Cool From You, Life Short Call Now and Summerzcool. Still getting in to the rest of it (except Turn Up The Heat, which did not make it to my laptop). And I think I even like A Lot To Drink About - very classic old school JB, even if it is dated.

Re: Buffet Hotel
Anyone think Jimmy is talking about himself in We Learned To Be Cool From You when he mentions Mr Mustache Man?
