Tour 2010!

Post by finsup2k »

Dunno about you all, but I'm as excited about the new album as I am about the notion that a new album brings a new tour!

My new year's resolution will be to see JB somewhere new - glad to take suggestions on this. Where's the best place to get an up close / reserved seat for the show? Been to Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Hawaii, and St. Barth. Is it Alpine? Chicago? Cincy?

Live, laugh, and love in '10!

If you want to get 'up close and personal' there are no better places than London or Paris........

Especially if you are prepared to be in the queue from 5.45am [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Closest/smallist venue I've seen Jimmy in was the Shell in Honolulu. It was pretty special...

Nah, that's not what I'm looking for. I have this fear / suspicion / doubt that the smaller-yet-publicized shows are not nearly as intimate as I'd imagine. It sounds to me like people are packed in, sweating, and unable to move, sing, dance, enjoy, etc. For me, that's not my idea of a great Buffett experience.

Great Woods intrigues me - seems like Buffett usually plays there. A good enough place to make a weekend out of it?

On an unrelated note, please pass this message along (via Facebook or Twitter or wherever you can think of...)...for those of you who prepare an annual Christmas card list, here's the address for a great addition to your list:

It really depends on what you want.

We went to Toyota Park this summer- it was one of the best relaxed parking lots I've been to (so. many. clean. bathrooms!- the only time there was a line, they were pumping them out!), and we ended up with 10th row dead center through TM. We'll almost definitely go back this summer. We stayed at the Best Western in Countryside, and were really pleasantly surprised at how nice it was.

My impression of Alpine was "drunken frat boy party" more than PH party- stripper poles, jello wrestling pools, stuck next to non-phs on the lawn (at least they were fun!).

My time at Great Woods was spoiled by a really lousy date, but I was less than impressed, although I did not go to the Saturday show, and again, bad date.

Loved, loved, loved, loved Jones Beach. Still have no idea where I was or what I was doing for several hours, but judging by the rest of the day I had a good time! Tailgating at the beach, then watching Jimmy with the bay behind him was awesome!

Cinci is a great party. Venue is not that great.

Yes, there are a bunch of us that make a week of it..well, at least Wed thru Sunday. Normally he plays a Thursday and Sat show at GW. On Friday last year a bunch of us got up and headed for the Beachcomber, out on Cape Cod. We had lunch, some drinks, some raw bar, hung out on the beach, and all of us decided it was so much fun it is now the official Buffett News GW Friday event. Also, on Friday evenings, normally one of more of the Coral Reefers do a show locally. Hope you decide to join us next summer.....as Jimmy says, it's the best tailgate on the tour.

You could not be more wrong, I had no less room to dance in St Barth than I do at GW. And it's usually pretty sweaty there too!! Seriously GW is a fantastic venue but it's only "intimate" if you're lucky enough to get in the first handful of rows. My budget doesn't permit me $1000 tickets for front row

I have not seen Jimy in over 2 Years!! :( I lost my job in '06. Started Home inspecting in '06. Housing market tanked in '07. I am working at a home improvement store. Hopefully, '10 will be better for all of us. I plan to see Jimmy in '10. Just so I can let off steam, Dance, and just have fun.

For my money, the parking lot is the best at Frisco (Dallas). And yes, I've been to GW. Only once, I confess, and that was last year, which apparently was really screwed up, but you can't beat the tons of clean real bathrooms, the pavilions, the huge grassy areas to play on, and Mr. Play's serious party prep, complete with water slides and a hot tub, for one seriously good time. Hands down the best parking lot I've ever seen! Show, though, not so much. Stadium show there now. (When in Dallas proper years ago, not that way, but then the parking lot was just a parking lot, without all the fun amenities I just mentioned.)

That said, GW was great (I've never had a bad time at Buffett) and the weather made for crazy stories this year!

We have a great time there! Not the wildest party by far, but a great group of people, and a venue that really seems to care about making it a great experience for the fans!

Small venues are the best. Either New Orleans Margaritaville or Hong Kong was best by far! :D

I agree about Toyota Park - great times - great BN tail gate and wonderful people who make us out-of-towners feel welcome and loved (and ensure we are well fed and watered)

(and the Venue definately has the bathroom thing down....Charlotte NC (with their lone port-a-potty) could learn some serious lessons).
And raccoons brought wine and the mice they brought cheese...
