during winter months like this, it could be water in the gas...I'd try a can of dry gas and see if that clears it up....otherwise I'd say he's right on the money with his advice.

Of course it doesn't matter if it's the first thing you check OR the last.
As long as it gets checked.

Fuel Pump, alternator, belts, hoses, they're ALL vital to a car's preformance and should be checked routinely.
I'm guessing it's definately one of those things that made that lady's car break down.
