Yes the project has been on hold for a while. A lot of others are as well cause of the economy. Hopefully, construction will start back up soon. It is possible. I'm just glad Jimmy wants to do a resort/casino. I can only imagine how cool it is going to be.

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The construction cranes are about to be taken down at the site of the stagnant Margaritaville project on Biloxi's Casino Row.

Harrah's executive John Payne called WLOX News Wednesday to let us know that over the next few weeks, the cranes would be disassembled. However, Payne emphasized that his company still intends to find new partners and complete the Margaritaville expansion.

Payne said the idle cranes cost Harrah's $10,000 a month. Since they're not being used, the company determined it would be more cost effective to remove them from the east Biloxi property.

At $10,000 a month for the cranes I can understand why they are taking them down. On a positive note, they said they were still committed to the project. So, in some time we may see this project back on track. Here hoping so!!

I drove by it yesterday morning and it's still just three levels of concrete. No movement on it at all.
